Re: GU 029 IRAN w/Behrouz??????????
lol, yea i probobly should still be listening to proggy breaks...LMAO.
anyways, my whole point was, guys who have recently (withint the last 2 years or so) done a comp for renaissance, are not going to scoot over the one of there biggest competitors of gu and mix one for them. renaissance also seems to be looking currently at djs that wouldnt normally be featured with GU.
it makes no sense to snatch up a guy fresh off a comp and ask him to make one for your label now. it's called saturating the market.
*edit - also, the contracts in which dj's sign for labels like gu and renaisance, are GENERALLY for multi cd deals which limit them from going out and mixing comps for other labels. Some speculation has been that the reason gu has recently featured re-cycled jocks (warren, deep dish, etc) was to increase the speed at which some of these contracts expired. partly due to the fact that say dj's like deep dish for exmple, would NOW be entirely too expensive to get to do a GU. so perhaps they are parting ways with the old to make room for the new. *edit.
