This past week end i played in ensenada @ barrojo, this is a new thing playing in clubs to me as i have always played in my room... my question is if you turn down the monitor speaker and use only one ear in ur headphone it sounds like ur trainwrecking, put the other side on and its dead on... bad acoustics or do i just need to get use to that ?

Playing out loud
Re: Playing out loud
ok, your wording kinda confuses me, but no worries we can get around that. if you are using the classic style of mixing with one ear in the headphones and the other listening off the monitors then beyond those two sources you are hearing the trainwrecing sound from the slightly delayed output that the dancefloor hears as well as the naturally occuring reverb that is created by the dimensions of the room you are playing in.
use the headphones and your monitors to mix. ignore the sometimes calles HOUSE system which the dancefloor hears. also ignore the subsequent reverb that large club installations create in the rooms they occupy...
let me know if this helps. if not i can clarify a bit for ya!
glad to help

That's what the monitor is for, to keep up just a bit louder than what you're hearing from the 'house' system.
