my roommate and i were driving over to a bar yesterday evening just after 8 for a couple of beers... saw a bunch (at least 7 or 8) cop cars swarming around... saw a guy face down at the side of the road surrounded by police, figured, its 4/20, probably some kind of massive pot bust.
talked to my dad this morning, and he asked me if id heard anything... turns out that a 17 year old girl working at mcdonalds down the street had been stabbed to death by this guy. she was my brothers friend and his girlfriends best friend, she was over at my parents house and was completely inconsolable when news got to them at 10ish.
apparantly the guy has no connection to the girl, and the motive is unknown... my brother had given her a ride home from school that afternoon. really makes you wonder why somebody would do this to a teenage girl FFS, kinda puts things into perspective.
just thought id share this sad story, kinda struck me when my dad told me this morning, gonna go see how my brother is doing after work.
