i just had to come in this thread and say that i honestly beleive this leak may be fake (however i have not heard any other tune but vicarious), for multiple reasons ill go into at a later date, if tool seriously pulled this stunt, they'll go down in history as one of the greatest rock bands ever... this is crazy...

would not be a first... but this is the real deal. Way tooo good to be a fake. Track #8 Rosetta Stoned, #5 The Pot... fucking rock! As far s expectations (vicarious especially) sounds like older tool. But this album is different in many ways, take the tribal chanting for instance, and more progressive. I'm lost for words.

You're a die hard Tool fan, you rush out and buy the first one because you can't wait to see if what has leaked is really on the cd. You pay the 11 bucks. Two weeks later another disc comes out with new material and the material you have already bought....for 27 bucks. Because you have been so impatient, and are dying to hear new stuff and want dispell the rumor mill surrounding this "leaked" record, you basically pay close to 40 bucks for two records.....Ingenious on the members of Tool in my opinion....ingenious indeed!![/QUOTE]

Yeah, I?ve seen that but I fail to understand why.
I guess it?s always a risk for Tool, because they take 5 years between each album, and so their audience is bound to change in the meantime...
But no one else can do what they do, and this is still unmistakably Tool, you can tell me about Isis or whatever other Tool rip-offs, but Tool is unique, and if people are complaining is because it?s mostly freeloaders who only really hear albums 2 times and then archive it somewhere...5 years ago it wasn?t like that and people would give this album more of a chance, because, like any other Tool album, you have to absorb it through several listens and only then can you make an opinion.
I mean, you wanna form a final opinion about an 11-minute track after one or two listens, be my guest, but I personally think you should keep it to yourself.

It would be pretty funny if this "leak" was faked. It would be one of the greatest musical scams ever, and if there´s a band capable of pulling it off, it´s Tool.
Stiil as a scam, it would better than 99% of all rock music out there right now.
