Looks like a very nice view outside your apartment. How do you deal with the neighbors when you wanna turn things up?

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

Thanks man. no I don't usually but that record is totally jacked any way from when I moved. I ran out of room in my cases and the movers were morons so a few were sacrificed for the greater good.:)

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

eeew, you let people you don't know move your dj equipment??? eeeek.

Nice feckin set up though bro, is that in your basement or something?

#953005Post 329 of 466

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

Thanks man. Yeah when the military moves you, you have to deal with the lowest bidder. The equipment all has road ready cases, and most of the records have cases too, but my collection somewhat outgrew my storage. But actually thats my "dining room" The glory of being single.haha And luckily the Germans use actual concrete to build their houses so I can totally crank it.

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

oooh nice...so you don't hear your neighbors? I've got a dj friend here who lives in an apartment like that, he says he's asked his neighbor time and time again if he's bothering him and the guy says he never hears anything. Awesome...if only they would do that with all apartment buildings.

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

hey bro, you really should get a 4X4 and a couple small sheets of MDF from home depot and make some stands for your speakers, so they face you better.

nice set up though bro. I'm going to need to get me some cd players again soon.

#954099Post 333 of 466

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

Yeah, still a bit of a work in progress. New headphones next, probably the A&H-ones. :)
how do you like those "Event" speakers??? especially for recording??? just wondering. I think they are events?
Yeah the Event 20/20's. I like them, very powerful sound for monitors, with good bass response and a clean output. Had them for a little over a year now.

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

so how are you liking those cdj's?

#959423Post 337 of 466

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

^ Really enjoying them. The .02% pitch adjustment is exactly what I needed. The .05% pitch adjustment that my last CD players had didn't cut it when it came to long tech house and minimal mixing that I've really been into lately.

The loop function combined with the fine pitch adjustment (of .02%) is also amazing. I can set up a loop and slowly push it into play over a several minute duration without the track getting off beat what-so-ever, which I also couldn't do with my old CD player.

And for features that some of the other CDJs don’t offer:

 • Loop Divide: A very fun feature to play around with. When used the right way it can really make the end of a transition from one song to another build up and sound really powerful. It's also very precise considering it can create a perfect 4 beat loop to build on all by itself.
 • The USB function, while it doesn't work with my 100gb or 500gb hard drive, it is still petty practical and solid. I have been throwing on some of my new mp3s & wavs onto a flash drive so that I can play them before I go and burn a CD (b/c I usually wait to have 8-9 tracks before I burn the CD)
 • The scratching features on this device are also a blast to play with. While I don't know the slightest thing about scratching I keep finding myself playing with the various scratch functions available.

There are a lot of other features these players have to offer but those are what first came to my head. Overall I have been extremely satisfied and all of the new features have made me feel like a little kid playing with a new toy!

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

wow, thanks bro. I too have been looking for a cd player with better than the .10% that the Pioneers have. I can work with them, but i'd rather have the pitch dialed in and really be able to ride those eq settings. I think you might have sold me on them.

Really nice setup bro. I love setups that make all of the equipment flush with the table.

#971771Post 343 of 466

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

it's nice that you have everything in a real set up. But why do you have that cd player and the Kaos pad soo far away from everything else? It looks like you could have perhaps built room in it for vinyl in the pull outs.

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

Hey lads! This is my setup @ home... nothing special really, but it does the trick for me!

2 Pioneer CDJ 1000s MKIII 2 KRK RPs 6 DJM 400 and the Technics Headphones..

Need to get some better standards for my monitors ;)

#975334Post 345 of 466

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

what do you mean nothing special. It's a nice fuckin set up bro. You've even got great monitors for if and when you decided to begin making your own music.

True, I really love my toys don't get me wrong :D Went to a big store testing several monitors.. I was really in LOVE with the VXT6s but hey, the RPs are really good as well, personally i think the best in this price category (bout 200 euros each).

Really want to start producing, got the PC hardware, just need the soundcard now! Thinking of buying a M-audio EMU 1616 M. And last but not least, a nice peace of software! What do you guys recommend?

#975749Post 347 of 466

Re: post photos of your dj setup here :)

get firewire and get an M-audio 1814...got three friends who all have them and they love them. Gonna get me one pretty soon...if I don't get a presonus in the meantime.

and with those speakers, you are gonna wanna get a sub, as you're not going to get the right low end for ya with the 6's. I've got the 8's and still want a sub. It really helps to get that big room sound at low volumes, you don't have to turn it up to get the right sound.

so HOW MANY DJ set ups do you have? Are you preparing for any kind of dj setup in a club. I'd dig having that A&H or the Ecler.
