IMO, the best conferences were up to 2003. After that, it is just way too crowded. So, don't worry, unless you like being packed like a sardine not being able to dance to your favorite DJs. I think the best part of the conference is during the day like pickle and them.

Secondly, it all depends on what DJs you see and/or what venues you go to. I went to a total of about 10 parties last year and can tell you that NOT ONE of them was overcrowded. I danced (like a white guy) and had plenty of room to move around. More and more clubs/venues open up every year thus alleviating capacity in many cases.

my admission is that I can't go this year to do other circumstances, but have at least made it to 1 to 5 events each year. As for the crowded piece, I was mostly refering to places like Nikki Beach and Club Space. 2 years ago, my friends and I went out to the terrace at space one night and within an hour, they wouldn't let anyone back to the inside since the fire marshall stated that they had to many people and no one was allowed back in. I did find a few pockets here and there to dance a bit but not like the normal nights. Then last year at Space, luckily I was in VIP, but I did venture out into the crowd to find some friends and 2 hrs later I made it back to VIP. I didn't walk more than 100 yds.

And your right on the fact that a lot of new and temporary clubs that appear during WMC, it does reduce the crowds but all of it depends on like you said, who is DJ'ing that night. Last year, Space opened a second club in South Beach which was great except that they had no running AC. Talking about hot. still had fun though.

So, I didn't mean that every party is crowded but definitely more people each year.
