Re: jibbed, pickled, mullered, and hounded in WMC2006
Part I

ok, I'm back.. to normal? well, at any rate going to try to make heads or tails of the last 7 or so days... 1st off, whilst trying to get last minute odds and ends done before I left for Miami last Monday night, I get a call from Jibby and MJ on the beach hammered already and Mike had just jumped in the freezing cold ocean.. so needless to say the next 12 or so hours before I got to leave were some of the longest, lol.. After a short phone call I knew i was in for a WMC in which I had never experienced before..

Tuesday the 21st we get to SoBe about 9 pm and before I can get unpacked in my hotel me and my cd's were summoned to Club MJ-JIbby-Pickle for a pre WMC set.. which I believe is going to be hosted in MS in the next few days. And as most of my ms experiences and meeting people in person MJ/Rod is as true as they come.. feel like I known the bloke for years. And nothing meant more to me than looking up from the decks and seeing his shiny white arse, with a brand new MS sticker on it. lol.. so about 4 am or so, I stumble back to my room and attempt to get some sleep before the next days events. My lady and I had a nice day in the sun checking out some of the sites of pre wmc SoBe, hung out at The Delano before we met up with the crew at the Shelborne for the Frisky Party.. open bar with the nicest bar tender in miami.. until she didnt have to "work" for tips and turned into the rudest c$%t in maimi, lol. Got in the club for a bit to hear Martin Garcia.. not a bad venue, Shine, shite sound system IMO. Apparently I had just missed MJ/Digweed remeniscing about their over the urinal convo of 18 month ago. But this was the 1st I heard of Digweeds new mop.. christ he needs to get that sorted. So we leave the club and go on a mission, or continue, to post MS stickers on anything moving, not moving, living, not living... and my quest to find pizza.. which ended empty handed, and MJ and Jibby wandering aimlessley up and Collins. The next day.. Thursday, I wake up to the gorgeous sound of bass coming from the courtyard of my hotel, and yes, the parties have begun.. after a few rain delays the party set off nicely amoungst palm trees and some very cool party people and the anticipation of Digweed at Pawnshop...

TBC.....
as everyone else has said, Digweed at Pawnshop was his old evil self, took us a minute to get in, since some puff out front with a mega phone that thought he was gods gift was letting every one in that DIDNT have tickets 1st.. no clue how that makes sense.. after a decent warm up by Jimmy Van M, Digweed took over the cock pit, and holy shit from trck one we knew it was going to be a hell of a ride. There was also some little side show, some bloke with a furry hat and shorts and two birds having a laugh, guess they work for the pawnshop.. sitting on lawn chairs, spraying cheap beer and what not... i had a hell of a night ending up doing a few things that i ad to be reminded of the next day.. or later that day, lol.

Friday we had the movim/basic party at our hotel.. again, waking up to the pounding bass of deep house in the courtyard of your hotel is always a plus. Drew, Todd, Ruby, Jibby, Sharon, MJ (jody or rod whatever, lol), Joe, Kabir.. sorry if i forgot anyone.. great hanging with all of you through out the week. That night was Luke Fair and Sasha at Glass.. this was probably my favourite venue of the trip.. classy club, amazing sound system, very nice dancers/performers and Luke and Sasha both at their best.. Luke started out with his usual funk and got the party started, but the last 90 minutes of his set was the most progressive I have ever heard him play, and worked into Sasha's 3 hours very nicely. Look out for this place next year for parties, you wont be disappointed.

Saturday, well, what can I say, the inaugral TampaHouseMusic.com party was an amazing experience, and a learning experience. I think met most of the ms'ers that were there, but i see pics of some I didnt get a chance too.. sorry if I missed you. The recordings will be available very soon.. all 7 hours! it started out a bit slow but by mid way we had a really good turn out, and even the people passing thru the hotel lobby were dancing as they were checking into the hotel. I tell you what, any nerves i had at the beginning of the day, disappeared when I was playing, and look up and see so many familiar smiling faces, you guys made me feel so at ease.. THANK YOU!!!! I can't wait until next year! Jibby, thanks man, that's all I can say.. thank you for being a part of THM. :D So after the THM party we chilled out a bit and reflected on the day and eventually ended up at the Penthouse for Max Graham (not good) and an early morning set from Luke.. lots of familiar faces there, steve porter hanging out with some bird in a short short skirt and thigh highs (leather boots), im thinking he got a shag.. Jody from WOW, Can Costa.. etc... dingy place i would say, half decent system.. wouldnt recommend. and the break beat party going on next door was drowning out the music in our room.. which wasnt cool. Sunday was a day of randomness.. started out at the rest, relax, recover party.. 20.00 all u can drink sangria, and they werent shy with it! beer, bottled not draught, and free food.. we got there for Steve Porter, then Chris Fortier next and then Luke Fair closed it out just as the sangria ran out.. we moved on and went to countless hotels listening to great music, making some great friends.. and ending up at one point in a little gay bar where they were banging out some sick tribal.. great choons, good time until the only two other str8 blokes thought they would ruin it by acting like a couple of douche bags towards my gf.. lol. so we moved on to the Whitelaw. Here some of the United Divas crew tag teamed some disgusting filthy techy house beats.. these girls had the attitude and the music to go with it, one of my fave parties of the trip. Then back to the room for some rest before having to check out and get ready fpr the Existence records party. Monday - aka the longest day of my life, lol - Woke up, begrundgingly checked out of our room, moved all of our stuff to some one else room (5 peoples worth of stuff). Got ready to go play at the Existence Records party where Chuck C made his 1st appearance, and the warrior Jibby was there of course, until he had to leave to get his ticket for S & D at Space.. not a huge turn out, but got to see Pole Folder up close and personal, and saw S Junkies do his thing on the live PA.. very impressive... I played outside in the Yoga Garden.. cool little spot, but again, not enough promotion on this party to get the turnout I had hoped for.. but the people that were there were having a great time.. Thanks Ariel for coming out!!! After this my battery is about empty, but I push on to Space.. got there about 2am and basically got right in.. the music downstairs was banging and dark.. upstairs Steve Porter pumped out a great feeling house set, full of jumping basslines, and the Desyn did his thing sounded good, but I was so knackered I needed to shut it down, especially with a 6 plus hour car ride ahead of me.

All in all a great trip.. again.. so good to meet you all, it felt like home. MJ we will be doing it again next year... Ruby, the offer stands for us too, anytime you fancy a trip to Tampa... fuck it, all you ms'ers.. open invite to my place if you are up for a trip.. it's not Miami.. but there are a coople of good dj's in this town.. right Steve!

Re: jibbed, pickled, mullered, and hounded in WMC2006

Ok first off I have to thank Dom, for getting those stickers done in time for the conference, if it hadnt have been for them there wouldnt have been the focal point to the outing we had. Them stickers are everywhere.

Now, I didn`t actualy take my camera out much in Miami because as Jib and Adam will tell you I had a habit of losing things then finding them, I.E passport, money, brain etc. What I did get though was some video footage of our hotel room. The first vid is of Pickle drinking jib spinning and me talking.

http://www.mercuryserver.com/images/jibpicklemj2.avi

Vid number 2 was shot when we ordered Mr Steve Graham (bless his cotton socks) to come and play his shit in room mullerness. I find Steves yanglish accent quite funny but check out some of jibs moves, the guy is a nutter.

http://www.mercuryserver.com/images/jibpickleunomemj.avi

now the 3rd vid Jib didnt actualy know I was recording as youll be able to tell from what I say, I just wanted to capture some of his movements, the guys cannot and will not stand still. Watch this right to the very end and laugh like fuck at his "the office" type dance. Jeesus, it cracks me up even now and I`ve watched it a dozen times. This is for you Stevey

Holy Shiaaaat... It's 3:40 pm!! I started reading this just before lunch (Work lunch break).. like 12:45 pm or so... oooooohhh Bad Sarah!! This was the best WMC out of 3 yrs. for sure for me! I had an Amazing time meeting & re-meeting all the MSers & getting to chill with PickleMonkey when we found him out flyin solo at Penthouse.... IMO...You're a Sweetie!! = ) Felt like things just happened & fell into place this trip. GLASS for Luke Fair & Sasha was my favorite of my 5 days.... Killer sets & the sound system was nice & crisp & clean & the temp was nice & there was room for me to Dance! Pawn Shop was an experience all in itself... that is an Awesome venue! & how surreal it is to look sit in a rounded seat w/ a table & bottles of liquor & water in front of us, surrounded by grafitti all along the walls & roof & looking out the window seein Diggers throwin down like 10 feet away.. out of the Semi! Woo-Hoo!! Fabulous! (also memories of Griff & Thrualoop's butts while they were lookin out & talkin to people from the windows.. "Hey how'd you guys get in there?"... hahaha- we chased down the bus & hopped on... what do you mean you didnt' see it running earlier??? Ya Tosser...) The TampaHouseMusic party was a blast! Nice to see so much support & those guys Threw Down! It's so nice to see their oh so soon to be discovered talents bringing so many brilliant memories & true entertainment outside our Tampa Bay area! Jib- it was nice to hear you throw down with! Bravo Guys!! Thanks for the Choons! It's been a while since I've been on the MS board, but it was cool to meet everyone & be like- oh.. so you're CrazyMadFlyGirl... & oh... so You're Remoh, etc.. Loved It!! You guys all Rocked! Can't wait til next year!!

Oh crikey, I dont remember that at all. Come to think of it I dont remeber much at all, apart from I had the best holiday Ive ever had... and with complete strangers... fucking weird or what. One thing I do remember is you saying I looked like some DJ (cant think of his name now) but you said I looked like a younger version of him.

You say I was a source of entertainment, well you were my source of energy, it was bouncing off you and effecting the people around you. Where do you get it from? Listen anyway, I`m glad I made you laugh, even if it was at my expense, laughing is the best form of medicine and that has been scientificly proven.

So, who are you again?
