So I bought a very expensive (for me) watch for the Mrs. on her B'day and the watch was DOA (dead on arrival). Called the vendor we purchased it from and its one those NY Stores. They said its just the battery as sometimes because of not being worn and sitting in stock for a while, the battery dies. He said if you get it changed, we'll give you a $10 credit OR I can return the watch and they send me a working one.

What do you guys think ? Return / Repair ?

Re: What would you do ?

return and tell them to pay for next day air both ways

#582535Post 3 of 36

Re: What would you do ?

Return. You don't pay a lot for a watch only to have to get it repaired before you wear it. Fk that.

return it. dont risk changing the battery yourself and voiding thier warrenty.

send it fedex with a return box included.

Re: What would you do ?

I never bought an Ipod on ebay, in fact I've never bought anything on ebay.... this watch was purchased from Amazon and mailed to me from one of their vendors.

I returned the watch and asked them to send me a working one

Just tell your old lady it got lost in the mail that would save you some cash!

Re: What would you do ?

I can't believe the advise you guys gave. Its a fucking battery! No warranty is going to get voided by replacing it. I'm sure if he would have replaced it and it didn't work they would have exchanged it. In addition you have got their email instructing you to change it. All this over a 3 dollar battery?

With some expensive watches they will void you warrenty if you try to replace the battery. They ask that you send it to them or you take it to an authorized dealer or the warrenty is null and void. Just depends on the manufacturer. Unless you have a swatch watch and then you are ghey and it is time to let the late 80s go!!!

#583462Post 28 of 36

Re: What would you do ?

Yeah but if that was the case any authorized dealer wouldn't tell you to change it yourself.

#583463Post 29 of 36

Re: What would you do ?

He bought it from a vendor not directly from the manufacturer. Believe me not every vendor knows the full warranty information on the products they sell. Best to check 1st with the manufacturer and not the vendor you bought it from.
