I will be in Charolette, North Carolina on the 31st of March as my bf has a gig there closing for Andy Moor.
Do any of you on here live in NC or close enough to drive in? I would love to finally meet some of you if you do.

Most of the trance out there is for kids and breezah bitches, I agree. But it's kinda snobistic to throw all trance on one pile imho. And to be honest, I get the impression that 90% of the MS dwellers just bash trance in order to be part of the "cool people posse" yawn Fuck that! Right now I'm listening to a trance set one of my mates mixed up. Pretty good stuff.
Btw, I went to a psytrance party when I was in Skopje last December and I must say that gig ROCKED big time!

Andy is more melodic in the 132-135 bpm range, where as Chris would be at about 135-140....while playing higher tempo/higher energy trance....so like the in between before hard trance

I think in the evolution of electronic music trance played a very vital role. I look at progressive, et. al; as simply a more evolved form of trance music. What really excites me is what must be coming....... Who knows where & what the next genre of electronic music will be..
I am really liking the DJ's that are mixing elements of trance and prog together. You would have thought it would have been that way BEFORE progressive reached it's current status-but alas, it happened later.

well it´s pretty clear that prog house has some of it´s roots in trance, but like someone´s already said, it´s an evolution of trance. There´s some good producers out there. but mostly i find it too formulaic and simplified, there´s only so much synth arpeggios and delayed basslines I can take.

Personally, I still like a lot of the uplifting trance, its a shame tbh how a lot of dance producers cashed in, and made it a very commercial and uncool kind of sound... Those people who get on there high horse and slag off trance, just listen to S&D around 97-99 that sound only really started to get played by other trance jocks in the last three/four years. Trance is uncool but has its roots... Im not about to write it off cos i had some fantastic nights listening to trance...:p

at least it's not electro..... oops, did i say that? anyway, i like and will play a good (imo) "progressive" trance tune. i'm not a fan of the really fast "circus" trance that sounds like i'm whirling away on a merry-go-round but i certainly like most, if not all of andy moor's stuff.... sorry, but if you don't like leama and moor then in my mind you have some serious "progressive" issues.

andy moor? man, that guys remix of "my release" was awesome. how is he live? i haven't heard any sets from him. that's awesome that your bf is closing for him.

I enjoy Andy Moor´s stuff...in fact Baroque has always been one of my favourite labels and the stuff they put out is clearly trance-influenced.

For those wondering how Andy is live he is awesome...I saw him here in Toronto a few months ago (Oct) and he had me dancing the whole time. Got to hang out and have a few drinks with him before he spun....he is a really nice guy. Can't wait to hang out with him again.
