Every year about 20 of us get together and rent houseboats in Tennessee YEEEEE HAAAAWWWWW! But this year I have them talked into going to the Ozarks for a long weekend.

I wouldn't think there would be clubs in that area but are there any within about an hours drive or so? I haven't booked anything yet so not exactly sure what part of Ozarks I will be in.

Also if any of you have any ideas of rentals in the area? Looking for something around $600 - $900 a day on the water that will hold about 10 - 12 people. Prefer it if we could get 2 units for all 20 of us right next to each other.

i'm there pretty much all summer, and no, there are no decent clubs in the area. the closest thing is stl, or kc. bring your own decks, make your own party.

Do the bars on the water stay open till 3am? That is a rumor I heard..

This is kind of what we are looking at renting... Any suggestions would be great!

Bars are 1:30...

You're pretty much looking at Shooters, lame ass club playing THE LAUNCH every 5 minutes...or Topsider, which is the same, with a mix of hip hop and a so called light show that might as well consist of a flashlight with a blacklight bulb being flashed on and off in your face while someone blows cigarette smoke in your grill. The only saving grace is if you're a single guy, both places are full of college girls slamming shots and falling down. Both clubs are severly annoying, and i'd rather eat a bucket of wasps than subject myself to that music and the Z28 types that go there. Especially since i see you're age is 30, like me, and i have a hard time tolerating dumb asses- and both clubs are full of em.

I grew up in Lake Ozark... lived there for 16 years. Moved to Kansas City for college.

I don't think the bars will stay open until 3... don't think I've ever been out past 2. Definitely not any later. There aren't too many cool places to chill down there, but the Blue Room is kind of (kind of) cool. As long as you aren't expecting any EDM. No EDM clubs that I know of.

I have rented a houseboat down there. it'd probably be your ideal choice if possible. You may have to go out near the Laurie branch of the lake to get one, but they're definitely out there.

Jeff, as for the place you're looking at renting, it sounds pretty centrally located, since it's 3 miles from the new HyVee store. If any of you have a boat, and you're planning on going to party cove, and the boat isn't at least 30ft long, in that location, you're in for a long ride, and you're going to get the crap beat out of you on the way.

As for the houseboats pickle is referring to...if you're looking at Sunseeker, the biggest rental joint down there, you're probably shit outta luck, as those are rented over a year in advance. Check smaller places, like adam said, probably near Laurie, Hurricane Deck, Camdenton, etc...off the beaten path, and one of you will have the joy of driving it all the way to your rental.

The Horny Toad at the end of HH just opened a night club too... it's a 4-story building, consisting of a restaraunt, a nightclub, an outdoor party/dining patio, and a store. I haven't been to the nightclub, but my aunt was the manager of the place since it opened until about a month ago when she decided to go into a different career. she was complaining about trying to schedule 200 employee to work, and when trying to track down some that never came to work she'd realize they were people that never worked there to begin with :lol:

seems like a cool place though. good food, plus it's on the 7-mile marker next to Bayou Bills and some other bar that I can't think of at the moment

I've been to Horny Toad. Similar to Jenks' description of Shooters and/or Topsider in concept, but maybe a slightly older crowd and, accordingly, probably a bit less prone to the things you'll find at your typical WOO HOO bar. It's basically a huge complex with a bunch of bars, patios, slips, etc.

You're pretty much SOL for EDM at the Lake -- but you should still find plenty to keep you busy and having fun...

i've eaten there quite a few times... just never made it to the nightclub portion. cool place for sure... especially since they opened the new one. the old one was nice, but the new one is pimp
