Re: jimmy van m...
Ultrafest @ WMC 2001, Twilo tent, was pretty much under that tent all day. again, same situation jimmy warming up for john at 5pm in the early evening and absolutely wrecking it something proper. 8) that tent was filled to the brims and further... amazing, AMAZING day. *sasha was absent due to ear problem. this was the first gig or two he missed due to that, i remember being there and he never showed up. at that point we didnt know why yet. kinda sucked.
hell yeah digweed recked me more than i have ever been in my whole life in that tent....what a night...dont think i will ever feel that good again.

Re: jimmy van m...

I've seen many times Jimmy as warm-up and as headline. I've liked both, but I agree that his warmup sets are better. Someone mentioned him and Cusick were the best warm-up DJ's...I saw them both open up for Digweed in Mexico and you can imagine the party....they both destroyed it and then Mr. Darkweed took off.............

Re: jimmy van m...

i ran into JVM when Sasha was promoting Involver, he was real nice and cool. I had to ask when he was going to another cd he said he was partying and doing other things too much but he would try he's always solid.

Re: jimmy van m...

Maybee one day he will get his website up and running http://www.jimmyvanm.com/

I dont realy think of Jimmy as a warm up Dj. He just dosent bang it out. I remember him finishing the night at creamfields one year. It was nice just to sit on the grass and listen to his set as the tent had emptyed out by then. Fucking brilliant. Ive been posting some of Jimmys sets in the promos section if anyone hasnt got them already. The set from Advance Club Guadalajara Mexico, (December 13, 2002) is mind blowing. If anyone has these sets i will be intrested

Jimmy Van M - Live @ Clubland Pacha, Buenos Aires 2.03.2003 3 parts and Jimmy Van M - Live @ Clubland Pacha, Buenos Aires 30.8.2003 2hrs Jimmy Van M Live @ Clubland 02.03.02 3 parts

I will be posting many more of Jimmys sets in the next few weeks. Keep on checking

Re: jimmy van m...
best warmup style dj on the planet. some of the witchery i witnessed him create before s&d were taking over, was amazing. the man can build the tension early in the night like no other.

as far as his peak time mixes, i'm not too sure i've ever heard one that made my pants move.

now mix cd's... bedrock cd 1 was ingenious! cd 2 was also enjoyable. i would really have loved to see this guy do a Nubreed mix or flat out GU mix back when GU was in its hayday. but i suspect he'll release his own compilation within the next 6 years.

bottom line = i'd go see him if he came to town.
Couldn't agree more

Re: jimmy van m...

I spoke to Jimmy at Renaissance @ The Cross in January he said he was hopping for a Renaissance release. But I'm not holding my breath. SHAME
