As a recreation marijuana user I use to check out [URL="http://www.overgrow.com"]www.overgrow.com[/URL] to find out information that I needed. I loved that site, the forums, the picks and all the information you needed to grow your little babies. However, to my surprise the site has been down for over a week. Other marijuana sites are also being shut down.
Does anyone know what is going on?

Not busting on you at all Kamal but indeed MS as a worldwide forum should be bold and broad enough to recognise when something taboo and illegal in one place is in practice proven to not be the evil and criminal thing that it's being made out to be. That being said I do agree that the thread opening post could have been phrased better and said the exact same thing.

this whole scene and the music along with it has been influenced so much by the ganja i dont really see a reason why weed shouldnt be allowed be discussed openly.

talking about how fucked up your were last weekend is one thing, giving advice and tips on growing illegal substances in the states is another, especially when it's not your own ass on the line.

the dude who started this thread wasnt asking about grow tips and things such as that, he was asking if anyone had any info on why various marijuana sites around the interweb are being shut down.

I was simply stating that the website had the information. I no it's not against the law in America to put information like that on the web. Also you can post information on how to make bombs. However, the Supreme Court did rule that info on making nuclear weapons went to far. Anywaz back to the subject all I really wanted to know if anyone knows what happened to overgrow? Thanks-

the fact that overgrow.com got shut down and so did so many other sites even though they were housed in servers in Canada (where they are more liberal than the US) should tell you exactly what the consequences of such a discussion can have.
If you wanna know about the status of a website, ask what happened to overgrow.com.
But dont detail what they did, how they did it and where else can I find a fishtank large enough for my hydro experiments pls. Just realize that for you guys, if MS got shut down, there are a million other forums you can register and move on to, but for us, its more than "just another forum", its an entirely different story.

Fuck ultra conservative legislation. There's worse stuff on this planet than a bit of green, but yes: i did not oppose the question asked, an in-depth discussion is another thing though.
