What was the First "Electronic" song you ever heard and what type of initial reaction did you have to it.....

For me it was Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk....I remember as a kid hearing it on a college radio Station back in the summer of 1984 thinking to myself that this was the future of Music......8)

Re: Memories

For me it was Halcyon & On & On - heard it on the Hackers soundtrack. To this day its still one of my all time favorites.

Actually that whole album still gets play every now and then, some classics on that one.

Re: Memories

I think it was Robert Miles "Children"... or at least that is the 1st one I remember when I actually started to pay attention to the music instead of the E!!

The piano was what caught me off guard... I love tracks that have piano or violin in them as long as it isn't to tranced out

Re: Memories

I bought the Mortal Kombat soundtrack when I was a kid. Didn't start listening to EDM until 6 years later.

But My first love and intro was when in Berlin in 92 as an exchange student and the track was U96 - Young Girls (i got the whole CD which is all great to this day) and another called The Rainbow Factor... WOW did it suck to come back here to 2 unlimited and La Bouche.....

Re: Memories

I don't know the name of the song, but it was some kind of horrible gino stuff that gave me a really bad impression of electronic music. Eventually my opinion changed when I heard something good.

Re: Memories

It all started in 99 when my roomate put in some Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers and Fat Boy.

Then I randomly bought Digweed's Hong Kong GU. Ignorant as hell. That CD got me to stop my car in the middle of a parking lot in absolute AWE. First CD, Track #2.

The rest is history.

Re: Memories

"electronic" is a pretty wide spectrum, guess it would have been something by Jean Michel Jarre or Kraftwerk
