Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
very cool
Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
yes, i heard they were working on this several months ago. eventually, i usually get my rebates, but 3-4 months was ridiculous. cheers to a company that deserves peoples' business & a lot of respect for doing this.
they also do a great job with extended warranties. in my experience, if somethings breaks - they replace - end of story. other companies such as comp-usa make you jump through all kinds of hoops forcing you to prove a product is broken & lengthy repair attempts before they will consider replacing it. unlike compusa, best buy has never charged me a restocking fee. respect due... :-)
Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
fuck if i ever got a mail-in rebate... companies are awful about being loyal with their rebates.
Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
I've never been a fan of mail-in rebates. Then again I was always too lazy to fill them out anyway.
Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
my experience with mail-in rebates is they are an extra hassle and the company on the receiving end would take AGES to send the rebate back.

You got that right. That's why I won't buy a cell phone anywhere else but there.
Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
nothing new; Staples has been doing this for months now...
however, submitting your rebate online is so much easier; just type in your receipt info. and you get the confirmations in your email...AND you keep the receipt as well for your records (some retailers don't print dupes unless you ask)

Yeah, I've been waiting for 2.5 months for the rebate on my new video card.
It's through the manufactuer so I really can't blame Best Buy, but I bought it there. :x

Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
I get all my sony products there. This is super!
Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
Its about time they get rid of mail-in rebates... Now if other companies would follow suite.
Those things should be outlawed. There is no point!

Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
I had a $100.00 rebate on my last laptop. Sent it in and everything. Got the check which sat in my wallet. Forgot to deposit the damn thing so by the time I realized, it was 10 days over the too late to cash date. Pissed me off.

Sure there is...to make you buy the crap they can't push at normal price
Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
so glad they decided to do that. what's wack about mail in rebates besides taking eternity is you send it in only to be denied because you have a PO Box. I dont know if it was the manufacturer or Best Buy itself regarding that but that sucks and any mail sent to my street address gets returned to sender. I still won't have mail sent to my street address no matter where I live.
Re: Best Buy Eliminates Mail-in Rebates
ick. im def gonna get denied for being late then :(
