Sasha opened up every set with this gem back in late 2003 early 2004.

Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
not my favorite track opening track but definitely the one I was most surprised to hear, back in 2001 - 2002, I heard DJ Alexis (I think) open up one of his sets with an instrumental track from an Indian movie.... just blew me away to hear it
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
sander k emix. past the junkies, past the whores and i wasnt even a big fan of that whole mix really, the beginning was brilliant tho
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
I hate bringing this up, but when i saw judge jules awhile back and he opened up his set with fatboy slim "bird of prey" i just about lost my mind.

Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
thats why i said i hate bringin it up, but that tune was killer back in the day.
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
Oakenfold played UNKLE reign (false prophet mix) to open up his set after Cattaneo this year. That was a great opener and also just happened to be my cue to leave also!
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
Lets see here...
Sander K essential mixes 2001 & 2003. = intro's Deep Dish Essential mix 1998 = Sanasol - Seveneleven Deep Dish Kiss set = Weekend World - The word Oakenfold - '99 world tour = all of them.
that's all I got for now.
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
really digging Slam-this World (Instrumental) from desyn's WMC essential mix, i can just picture people on the beach listening to that tune, i'd freak out...
sander k emix. past the junkies, past the whores and i wasnt even a big fan of that whole mix really, the beginning was brilliant tho
[I] it's quiet now and as i think my thoughts alone i'm trying to keep my head straight but i think i'm too far gone for in the silence, the truth rings even louder a constant grinding begging recognition of it's power through its eyes i take the trip, destiny: the place of pain and pleasure absolute where sorrow has a face a place of time where spirit asks to stand and hold its ground has lost its equilibrium and is slowly sinking down down into the darkness that the lack of will affords down into the shadows past the junkies past the whores down into the mire suffocating all that lives but if i say "i care" i lie for i have no more left to give well i suppose a hand would help oh yeah, there's no one here if that's what i wanted, once again my greatest fear i just long to hear a bird's song, just to let me know there's light for as we all know a song bird never sings its song at night but it's quiet now

it wasn't on the sander k emix i heard it first tho. it was a local dj. great set.
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
Nils Noa's e-mix opening or LES first kiss opening are pimp
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
ditto on seveneleven and sander's emix. it's too bad the rest of that oneiro track isn't as good as the intro, haha
i can't pick a clear favorite out of all the awesome mix intros i've heard, but here are some i can think of:
i:cube - vacuum jackers (maurice fulton remix) - sean cusick's 2004 kiss mix monolake - ice - sean cusick's 2001 kiss mix killing joke - millenium - andrew weatherall's 1993 essential mix conoco - keppi - andrew weatherall's blood sugar mix 5
parks & wilson's emix from 2000 probably has the best intro out of any set i've heard, but it's kind of two tracks:
Jin Long Uen - "Bow To Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva" Tilt - "The Dragon"
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
Luke Fair's spring promo 2004. Still don't know the name for that opening track but it grabbed me from the first 3 notes.

DB Boulevard-Hard Frequency (Megahertz Club Mix) ..... Great track
Another great intro was a Sasha Moonpark Mix (5-4-03). He opened up with....Homegrown (James Zabiela Mix).. then played multiple samples of cloud cuckoo.. amazing

the intro tracks to expeditions.
not a set intro, but sasha's intro when he got on the decks at creamfeilds inlike 01 or 02, the mash up he did of dark and long and some french track with all the effects going off. it was the set where diggers opened with his remix of nalin and kane. i was off my face when that went off.
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
Narcotik-Blue from Home, Sydney (Oakey world tour 99) something amazing about the way tong is talking at the start, and you can hear the crowd shouting out support for oakay, best intro ever.
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
a jay tripwire mix that had a george bush wmd parody at the beginning was a good intro too.
intro to tyrant 1 disc 1, forgot what the voice says but thats pretty cool
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
im suprised nobodies mentioned any of the four.2 discs, the one where it goes right into that habersham track is pretty wicked.
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!

2 tracks are coming into my mind and both are from essential mixes...Shmuel Flash - 'Chilling Moments' in the S&D essential mix from the Delta Heavy tour 2002 is the first one and the second, yet more impressive moment was when I first heard New Order - "Crystals [Bedrock Remix] in John's 2001 essential mix live from Homelands..he started his mix with this track and I still get goosebumps every time I hear it...gotta love that. 8)
Re: Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!
Laidback - Beautiful Day (Banzai Republic vs. Trentemoller Remix) from luke morrison's 2005 winter promo .... cant say its my all time favourite but i've been listening to that mix so much 'cos of how he started with that track and how the entire mix just builds and progresses ...plus its a really good track on its own imo
