Wow, what a week of specials with 2 more exclusives.

I had the pleasure of seeing [b]Maya Amack[/b] last year at the conference after hearing her Proton show several times. Playing alongside the likes of Lazarus, Three, Zabiela, Mazi, et al she definitely left a fitting impression on me. Hanging out with her a little in Miami and even having breakfast with her proved to me that she was an awesome person in addition to a tremendous musical talent. After approaching her in the middle of December to see if she would be gracious enough to provide a mix for everyone to download, she jumped at the opportunity and put together a mindbending blinder of a set. If you like hearing danceable tech then you're definitely in for a sweet, sweet surprise. It's a mix that's been getting a heavy rotation on my iPod - or as I like to call it: WJOE. Anyway, here's some information on Maya for those of you that have been living in a shoe...get with the program because she's absolutely on fire! Thank you a million times over Maya for giving us the opportunity to host this awesome set.

The 2nd set we're lucky to be hosting this week was supplied by none other than the king of Toronto: barneyillfingas. This is only part one of three of [b]Demi[/b]'s recent gig at Soundbar in Toronto and we will complete the entire 4 hours over the next couple of weeks. Many of you heard part of this set on Jamie McHugh's [b]mercurysessions[/b] show 'FutureForward' a week or so ago. Definitely a proper progressive set that will have many of you bouncing through your work day. Thanks G for yet again supplying a tasty treat!

Ah nice, thanks for hosting Demi’s set Joe.

Some background info on this party. This night was a part of a series of events that really closed System Soundbar in style. It was Demi’s first time spinning at the club after a year’s worth of legendary events at Toronto’s Boa-Redux. This was also the first time that Demi made use of an effects machine that Pioneer so generously donated to him. After a listen, I think you’ll agree that it really makes a cool difference.

Opening the night was Toronto’s master of mayhem, Deko-ze and the Deep Groove duo. Needless to say they started things off pretty hardcore, hence the bangin start to Demi’s set. He quickly settles into the sexy stuff. I just love the track at the 41min mark. In Demi’s own words, “It has so much vibe.”

The end of part one and throughout part two Demi delves into the genre we in Toronto like to refer to as Future House. It’s funky, fun and progressive. He throws in some recognizable tracks that really had the System dance floor jumping.

The funk spills into the third part but then abruptly halts, but for good reason I must tell you. Throughout the night there were a group of enthusiastic, but sketchy clubbers giving it their all up front. One of them must have been 6’7” tall and wasn’t the most attractive guy you’d meet on a night out. To make things worse, he was blazing glow sticks in the direction of the booth all night. Needless to say, as the event went on, he became quite annoying so Demi decided to give him what he deserved, and that was NOISE! Granted its really cool stuff and its amazing how he transitions into it, but in the end it’s pretty crazy.

Demi winds the set down in epic style and overall the night was a huge success. He is definitely a wicked live DJ and an all-around cool, and I mean super cool guy. His energy is second to none and his skills improve gig after gig. Check this set out for sure and the ones to follow in the coming weeks. And be sure to hit up a venue close by if he’s dropping tracks in it, I guarantee good times.

i use this name because i have used the same user name on every forum for the past 6 years...so it makes for people to recognize me here and there. But no i think tiesto is a slob now.lol

Anyway i dont post much cus i am very busy with work...i used to post a lot on raremusicfinder when i was younger (which i beleive is where MS came from).

Anyway if anyone can help me with this Demi set i would gladly repay you with other Demi sets.
