I can't add a poll to an already-created thread.
Re: Cell phones
haaha
Re: Cell phones
Verizon, except none of their phones fucking support Java..gotta use the shitty-ass GIN service which is flawed (I got all the freebie progs downloaded on my phone  )
Re: Cell phones
im from mexico, so there are only 2 big cell phone service companies. Telcel, wich is from Telmex and Unefon. Telcel (telmex) has a huge monopoly over here in Mexico, it was the only local telephone service company for over 30 or 40 years so basically the 60-70% of the people who use cell phone service goes with this company, and the local telephone service is up to the 95% with the same company. this is a really fucked up situation cause the fee is very expensive cause there is no market to compete with this company.
Re: Cell phones
I'd like to state that Cingular SUCKS 18 Different kinds of ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Cell phones
hey wheres vodafone
Re: Cell phones
Get with the times america. It's all about 3 mobile.
hey wheres vodafone
We don't have Vodafone in the states.
Re: Cell phones
not to mention EVDO is gonna kick some GSM / 3G ass so I'm actually glad I stuck on with Verizon :p
Re: Cell phones
i have vodafone and orange, i like better the vodafone service, but some of my friends use orange so it's ceaper for them to call me on orange
Re: Cell phones
Orange here too, but it's the most expensive service here so i'm gonna switch to Vodafone of KPN next year. They have worldwide roaming contracts too (also in Africa), which is pretty important for me. Saved my ass out there once already...despite the 400 euro bill I was left with, lol
Re: Cell phones
Sprint/Nextel are the same. AT&T has been Cingular for well over a year now :)
I have both nextel and cingular. Cingular service is WAY better than the nextel...but i love direct connect :D
Re: Cell phones
vodafone/orange added.

Re: Cell phones
I have verizon but I rarely use my cell phone at all. I hate cell phones.
Re: Cell phones

Haha....man, i sold my new Samsung E720 with cam and nice colour screen to my mate and went back my good old Nokia 5100...the 'indestructible' model. Simple, easy, does the job without a fuss and it's not so fucking fragile. What the hell do i do with a display on the cover anyway, i wanted a folding phone so it was protected!
Really, my next one has got to be stylish but extremely simple. And Triband of course...
Re: Cell phones
I'd been on t-mobile since I first got a cell phone, but switched to cingular this year cause they work ion my apartment (had no service with t-mobile). I hadn't considered the other services available here cause they weren't supporting sim cards or gsm service (at least at the time) and that is damn sweet when travelling :)
Re: Cell phones
tmobile
Re: Cell phones
Im on Rogers here in Canada. Its the only decent GSM carrier so not much choice.

Sprint has EVDO as well. I believe GSM is a voice/data protocol, while Evolution Data Only, Evolution Data Optimized, EVDO (as its name implies) is a data only proto. EVDO is considered a 3G technology.
Though I will admit that while Sprint's data services and offerings are amazing the voice service can be shitty at times. And for all you Sprint people who also have frequently dropped calls... dial *2 talk, hit 1 and say "dropped call" to Clara. You get a credit on your bill. I save about 10 bucks a month by doing this everytime I get a drop (since reception at my house is shitty).
Anyways E, you should see what this guy is doing across the Verizon EVDO network: https://www.timekiller.org/carpc/index.php
Re: Cell phones
that is fuggin INSANE dude.... WOW....
and yea I was aware of what EVDO is, point I stated it is that the next gen EVDO (data service) from Verizon is actually faster than 3G

t-mobile right now. i have had sprint (reception sucked for me) & at&t (left cause i wanted a razr). i still cannot get good reception in my apartment, but out of the 3 services t-mobile's reception works best in my apartment. but it is far from perfect. i guess it depends on the particular apartment & location. and yes, sim cards rock...
