Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

no one said you had to use drugs to have fun, you can however use them to enhance an already great experience. anyone who uses drugs to avoid reality or cheer themselves up is heading down the road to dependance.
it is just a fact that drugs and for that matter 90% of the food we eat today is manufactured and that which is foregn to the body can not do the body good hence the decline in overall health of the entire world from the food.

Factor in the harsh effects and alterations of drugs to the body, it is self evident that they are not good in their nature
"There are times, however -- and this is one of them -- where even being right feels wrong. What do you say, for instance, about a generation that has been taught that rain is poison and sex is death? If making love might be fatal and if a cool spring rain on any summer afternoon can turn a crystal blue lake into a puddle of black poison scum right in front of your eyes, there is not much left except TV and relentless masturbation." - Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

Pot isn't manufactured and any injested substance is foreign to our bodies BTW. ;) Bacon is natural and delicious (and a foreign substance to our bodies) but it ain't doing any wonders for our health either.

You forgot shrooms ^^^^

But since CDJ brought it up, I've got something. I had an aunt die recently, while in her last days they gave her morophine to ease the pain. Anyways I got to thinking. The religious folks always say how bad drugs are. [Some] people turn to drugs to ease the pain, an escape from the day to day. How is this different than someone in the hospital getting morophine and what are your thoughts on it?

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

Sorry about your aunt neoee. I for one hold no real grudge against the use of drugs. You choose to fuck yourself, its your choice. You are an addict as long as you wish to be one and no one would really to be able to change your mind otherwise if you wish to continue down the rabbit hole your mind is digging for you.

Drugs that result in the triggering of "maniac" type behaviour should be banned simply for the risk the drug abuser poses to society. Of all you know, since the brain can get "attuned" to several stages of pain / pleasure, what is to say that being sober isn't a form of being high on its own ?

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

i think some of the craziest people i've ever met are ones who've never been fucked up once in there lives.

Experimentation is a healthy practice imo.

and no i wouldnt consider doing blow for 3 years an "experiment".

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

I've never tried Extasy for any event. Weather it's for a rave, club or just plain partying. I do however have to be extremely stoned when going out to clubs. I like it better than being sober. Even though I have gone to clubs not uti, plain sober and just drinking. And I have fun.

But being high takes it to a slightly different level. I cant compare it to anything else as I've never tried anything else so I dont know what the difference is. But I love being high. Not just for the clubs but for Movies, eating, relaxing & chillin. I cannot be high at work, tried it and I was tripping out.

btw, many of my friends are on E when out at clubs and have offered many times. Never considered it. ONly ohter drug I've tried was coke, but that was becuase I was partying for 1 1/2 weeks in South Beach. I had to.

I like the natrual approach....cannibus that is. grows right outta the ground and no man has to modify it whatsoever....

any man made drug that is processed is garbage imo.

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

i think the bottom line is that moderation is the key. from what people say it is fun to let your hair down a bit, just keep it safe!!!

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

"E" is fun for sure, but i am sick of seeing the same people totally messed on this sh*t party after party- if u can't go to a show and enjoy urself without being completely wasted off drugs, then ur probably going for the wrong reasons... imo

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

i say give everything a try once but as bart says make sure you are around people you trust and familiar surroundings, I dont bother with it anymore as it just fucks you up for days after plus I always found when I did do it I forgot half the night and Id end up missing loads of a night talking shit to some dude you have never met before. good buzz though

^^NLP...one can program the mind to be in altered states or feel like you're on drugs...it's pretty cool and ultra-powerful.

good question

My personal thoughts on it are this - I would not associate the sin of drugs to just taking the drug. I would say it is more of a frame of mind. It is wrong to go to drugs to help you take away something that is mental. If a person is going through an operation then I say it is OK to use something to help with the pain that will be induced from surgery. If a person takes drugs to help "escape" or "explore" or any other reason you can think of outside of medical is wrong.

so do you not call it altering weed when you burn it. It is changing physical properties when you smoke it.

It is not natural to smoke anything.

weed is not a "natural" drug. If you are using the fact that it is a plant as its basis for being "natural" then you are not looking at it properly

Currently MDMA (ecstasy) has received FDA approval for testing for a couple different reasons (see quote below). So if it becomes an approved treatment vector for certian issues would it still be sinful?
Second human MDMA experiment gains FDA approval (12/19/04) The FDA has given approval for an experiment to see if MDMA can help terminal cancer patients deal with anxiety associated with their illness. This is the second MAPS sponsored human experiment to be approved, coming on the heels of research currently underway in which MDMA is being given to victims of post-traumatic stress disorder (specifically victims of violent crime) within the context of psychotherapy.

You can eat pot and still get the effects. Magic mushrooms aren't chemically altered either. I don't know how a plant or fungi could be unnatural or manufactured, but what do I know right?

i've known people who have tried 2cb, but i;ve never heard of 2ci before? differences? similarities?

#529671Post 67 of 74

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

hmmm, I would agree that it changes your experience with music. as somebody earlier said, you just look at it through that experience you had.

and I don't get all that talk about manufactured = unnatural & foregin. Anything that is truely foreign to your body couldn't be absorbed and used... Drugs are defo not foreign as they wouldn't have any effect. Food can't simply be foreign. It can be altered but it still contains same/similar chemical compounds.

#529774Post 68 of 74

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

God created plants/fungi/animals, but if you eat one and something interesting happens then it's a sin? I don't get it. I can't imagine that many people are eating mushrooms or peyote to escape their day to day problems. Only dirty hippies would even think of taking psychedelics more than a couple times a year.

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

I think there are many ways to experience music and to change your interpretation of it according to settings.

I´ve had great musical experiences on E, but I´ve had them on alcohol, coke, hash or even sober, if the mood and setting is good.

As "experience enhancers", I´m not against drug use. I´d call myself a "recreational" user. Alright, maybe not nowadays since I´m kinda retired from clubbing, with the kids and stuff. But anyway, just to give an example...

Last friday, I did something I hadn´t done in 3 years, I did some coke. I was with someone I trust and he vouched for the quality of the stuff. I had a lot of fun, felt very good all the time, we went clubbing and it was certainly enjoyable in a different way than if I was just drunk or whatever. I probably would have ended having fun anyway, since I tend to drink a bit on these occasions, but this made it special.

But I´ve also had awesome clubbing experiences totally sober too. Those were occasions where the music and my surroundings and the people I was with just clicked.

So my final word on drug use is that I believe that an intelligent, well-informed individual, confident in his own limitations, should not deprive himself of these feeling and experiences. But ONLY in those circumstances. I think no one NEEDS it to have fun (unless they have an habit).

Personally, I´ve never had one single bad experience with drugs. Maybe I was lucky? I´d say that it was more because I knew what I was doing.

Re: Does 'E' make a difference!!

I get your question - Yes it does change how you interpret the music later on and when you're sober. I often wonder to what extent though. Would I love this music as much as I do without the fun club experiences?
No one answered me !!!!! :) am not here takin' bout how good extacy is or should i take it or not ..am askin if people who take extacy view the music in a different prespective .. and i dont mean when ur high i mean after u have went home and laid down and got out of the effect and decided to continue livin normally , at this single moment would the same cd u listened to before even tryin the drug sound different ??!!!
