i saw him last night, i got to the club with no great expectetions at all, but when he started to play i realized hes a really really talented guy. i thought he was a bit plain in the beggining cause the jerk who warmed him up finished at 32 o 33 bpm, so it was a little boring, but he started making his set out.

i have seen so many djs by now... big, mediocre and lousy ones, and this guy is one of the best if not the best guy ive ever seen live. his track selection is awesome, i just recognized two tracks from a 4 hour set, his mixing skills are awesome too, what else could i say from this guy.... if you have the chance to go and see him, you shouldnt miss him. i can add to this that im not a fan of what he played last night, but when someone plays like he did, even if its trance, psy ( ) or any other genre you realize he's the best on what he does.i cant asure if hes the best dj live right now, but what im sure is that he deserves a better place in the dj mag poll.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I saw him last year with Sasha in San Francisco at the Mezzanine. I didn't have much expectations, but he played 3 hours (Sasha 4) and they both rocked it. I was drunk though.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

i saw him open for Sasha during his involver tour in nyc. He was solid that night, but the crowd didn't really care for him cuz he was fresh to the area and everyone was waiting for Sasha to get behind the decks.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I've seen him play in Toronto, Minneapolis and Chicago. In Toronto and Minneapolis he was warming up the night but in Chicago he was headlining for what I believe was Van M's b-day party and he stole the show. Sick mixing, incredible track selection, very nice person to talk to. I love the niche sound he has and the fact he's not playing the latest trend..

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

@ The Church in Denver, CO opening for Sasha. Crazy club, it was actually a church at one point. The stained glass and pues (used as benches) are still in the place.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I have seen Luke live 3 times (once in Cancun with Sasha and twice here in Toronto). The guy is extremely talented and never disappoints.

I recommend going to see him whenever he is in your area....he definately won't disappoint!

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I saw him play last year at the bedrock party WMC 2004 with desyn masiello and he was outstanding...Just amazing really (one of the best shows i have seen) then i saw him this year at House of Bluse in orlando and that show was ok. not nearlly as good...but the vibe/venue/and other circumstances had alot to do with it.

regardless luke is one of the most talented djs out there...and his productions are stellar..I love all his work.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I saw him play to crowd of just twenty people a few months ago. More details...

He played a flawless set and since that day the only CD I've played in my car is Luke's Kiss 100 mix from this year and I haven't become sick of hearing it. Keep in mind I usually listen to my iPod in the car, the CD is only on for short trips...but still Luke is an awesome and often underrated DJ.

Last time i was waiting in line and i think i heard "who the hell is steve lawler" at least 5 times in the 10 minutes i was waiting in line/paying for tickets

i was at the bedrock party as well and it was quite a difference. i think it helps when djs get properly opened for as well as oppossed to some idiot who tried playing some dnb before lawler/miller. HOB = Amatuers. it will take a lot for me to return.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I saw him at bleu room in dirt_troit, still one of the best shows I've been to.... he destroyed the place. I had high expectations and he completely exceeded them.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

saw him last year, march-ish i think. the turnout was disappointing, but he did a great job, played some great tracks. he actually was here last weekend too, and apparantly portland has caught on finally, because the club he was at this time was over capacity. i didnt make it to the show this time though...

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

he's definetly one of my favorite dj's if not my favorite. i've only seen him live twice. (once opening for danny howells in montreal a few years back, and once opening for desyn in his home town of toronto). both shows were amazing, he really knows how to read a crowd and has a blast doing it. i always have high expectations for luke and he usually superceeds them. you always know that you are going to get something different from him with every set he plays. he edits most of the tracks he plays as well, so even if you know the track he is going to have his own spin on it. big ups to luke and keep up the good work. cant wait to see him live in toronto again. -ryan

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

Glad to see so many people like Luke Fair and not just me. I've seen him DJ a few times opening for Sasha or Digweed or at WMC. And each time I've seen him, I've been impressed.

What impresses me the most about him is his choice of music. He doesn't play the newest tracks on the biggest labels, but a disco house style that works well. He does lots of re-edits that work well in his sets. I also really like his original productions which you don't hear that often in his sets. And what about his remix of Some Velvet Morning that Sasha played out? All around good DJ and producer. I recall Digweed even saying on his Kiss 100 show that Fair was one of his favorite DJs.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I love that he re-edits alot of his tracks. I think that says alot about a DJ when they spend that much time out of the club to create such a fantastic sound. I've seen him twice this past year, once opening for Digweed and once at an afterhours in Edmonton. Both times were really quite enjoyable. Would still love to see him headline a regular show though.

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I have seen him open for diggers twice now and both times he ripped it up, he primed the Kool Haus perfect for diggers had the place in frenzy and then came back on after and killed it very solid. but I need to see him headline that would be sick

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

I saw him a few years back at Bedrock in Birmingham. He came on after Digweed to play 4-6 and I didn't like it. Much too hard for me, I quite like some of the warm up mixes of his that i've heard

Re: have you ever seen Luke Fair live?

Luke is wicked! Also saw him open for Digweed this past year, where he certainly did not suck. Best was hearing him play @ The Waldorf Hotel in Van over the summer. Was an 80's Miami themed party and it was easily one of the best parties i've ever been to.

Solid records & slick mixes to boot. Guy definitely knows what's going on.
