Re: clelebrity djs
Jason Orange (formerly of take that) still does the rounds. Apparently he's not too bad, plays crowd pleasing funky house
Re: clelebrity djs
This definitely adds to the notion that it's the mixing and programming that make an event, and not the DJ.
Re: clelebrity djs
what about that dude from that 70's show?
Re: clelebrity djs
They forgot Tommy Lee, nominated for Tool Of The Year in another thread here...
[edited name thanks to Ariel, nominate myself for tool of the year for making that horrible mistake, lol]
Re: clelebrity djs
Anymore I think it is a joke that celeb's try to dj. It makes a bad name for the djs out there that bust there ass to make good music.
Re: clelebrity djs
Tommy Lee Jones is the actor and definately not a DJ. I think you meant Tommy Lee who was the drummer for Motley Crue. I've yet to hear a review of his DJ gigs that rate higher than mediocre.
Also on our side of the pond there's Perry Farrell aka Peretz. Heard he managed to clear a dancefloor w/in 45 minutes at a gig in SF a few years back (whoa, took that long?). There's also the guy who plays Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite doing the DJ rounds. He managed to get a DJ tour and headlined over at Ruby Skye some months ago. Dunno how it turned out.
Sucky thing is that people would go see these guys no matter what as the public has a fascination with celebrities since day one. If Paris Hilton had a gig at Ruby Skye, I'll bet you it'll sell out real fast because the public is super fascinated with her right now. It's sad but true that people would rather see those guys and topless DJ's but people like gimmicks.

Playing genre-defying sets, he delivers his own blend of dancefloor gems, and hit a career-best 127 RBIs in the 2002 season...
this was taken from Proton's featured artist of this month, i havent heard his mixes, but i have no faith in this kind of shit anyway

Actress Shannon Sossaman supposedly got discovered while djing at some bar. I guess that makes her a dj turned actress.
Re: clelebrity djs
my 2nd favorite dj, after atb

Re: clelebrity djs
Maybe Shannon is actually into the lifestyle of dj'ing. But she could also be just a non mixing dj too like so many of these celebs.

Re: clelebrity djs
she was SMOKIN in 40 days, 40 nights.
Re: clelebrity djs
Yeah she was hot in that movie. Not in that photo. She needs to get a little bit less in your face attitude going on for that photo.
