i cant say i've ever met a bigger fuckwad in my life. he played here tonight....and sweet jesus it was bad. breakdowns were more common than tunes. sloppy and lazy mixing were the standard.

he had the biggest ego i've ever encountered in a dj, and his tour manager was a complete bastard as well. they fit nicely togetherer. seriously folks, if he shows up in your town, run in the other direction. past his prime.

hey... not all of his music sucks. older stuff where he was really working sometimes fills in, like subliminal sessions cds 1,2..

anyways, i just remembered boo8 in new york. if was the final boo and went in a club (i think Ministry of Sound), so we had a good night there, with a few rolls, you know, some good dancing time. and it finished, so 6 of us went into some smaller club where Morillo was playing (we asked for dj's name later when were already in), paid $65 total for 6 to get in - rediculous - for half an hour. music sucked, some funk and latino after 7 hours of trance and house? but show was unforgettable... one of the guards ran out to the middle and started dancing with a gay-dude, and that guard was huge and gay too. so they both danced all around the place, hugging and running everywhere, you know, like 'ball' dancing:oops: , lol. :lol: ... anyways, we watched that for like 10 minutes, and everything stopped... was a really cool ending... and we dropped acid and went into central park...

In Portugal, he´s worshipped like a God, and behaves like a rock star.

He comes here often and always plays to packed crowds. He´s got a boatload of Portuguese producers signed to his labels Sondos and Subliminal.

I don´t get it either...

Can't stand the guy myself, yet a bunch of friends of mine here in NYC love him. He plays the same breakdown after breakdown all night, some individually great tracks, but track after track of the same crap and I'm bored as hell in half an hour.

and they're getting excited cause he's opening a Pacha in NYC...f*ckin great :roll:

But I will say one thing to his credit, towards the end of the 90s, maybe even into 2000-1, his label Subliminal threw a Thursday night party at Centro-fly that absolutely kicked ass week after week...one of those times and places that you will truly miss til the day you die and for that I gotta give the man some credit.

I still won't go to see him anymore though....

i checked his 10 years ibiza e-mix, and the whole set is just breackdowns where people come to sing along the lyrics of the tracks, i mean, cmon, you're supose to play music there when you're in top100 djmag not to do some karaoke, and besides the anoying breakdowns, there are tracks mashed up so bad,you dont understand what's going on there he just sucked big time, didnt heard any sets from him before, but that set was awful

wow amazing to hear all this... ive only heard him live once..i do agree his mixing was lazy, but like ruby said, he does play some individually great tracks..overall i had fun that night... i always thought he was well liked, oh well fuck him if he is a primadona, wanted to see him at last years WMC at space. cant beat the vibe..heard he wrecked every song and played a ton of remixes, so i didn't get to upset i missed him...

Well here's my opinion. If you love deep ol skool NYC house like lil louie vega, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles or Fancois K. then he can act like his shit doesn't stink music wise. Subliminal records has fallen off but there older tracks that they relased were just un-real.

I mean to this day his collaboration with Lil louie (Lil MoYing Yang - Reach) is still a a legendary track.

What his problem is the fact that he is also a business man and has tried to sell undeground house music down the commercial path which is why he wlll be disliked by many people.

Lets not forget that his live guest performance at crobar last year was Dildo... I mean, Diddy. Who allegedly pulled the audience participation no-no of the " I can't hear you!!! Make some Noise!!"

In his typical fashion when he went on in the middloe of the night, he stopped his performance (and the beat/vibe in general from what I hear) and pulled that stupid moronic chearleader bullshit. Solidifying my theory that both that night's guest act and DJ are suited towards people who enjoy yelling louder on command for egomaniacs and/or performers who must resort to pleading, bullying, and throwing guilt trips in order to recieve applause etc.

If you clap for diddy, you're an ass. If you clap louder for diddy because he yelled and asked for more, your best bet is to try and contract Bird Flu ASAP. As long as you remain off of my dancefloor permanantly....

I've been insanely busy at work and getting out for the good events these days. Session view... its a different place than the arrangement view for sure... think of it as a buncha buncha CD Decks lined up in a row, and then it complicates itself insanely from there on if you want it to.... Check the ableton discussion boards, there is a multitude of different explanations and approaches on there these days that might phrase/detail it best for what you are looking to find out. In fact I am gonna go browse for fun tricks and goodies/tutorials. Hit me up for ???'s all ya like

i'm curious, where in Canada are u located day_for_nite?

i checked out his show in Calgary on Nov 9- it was fcuking terrible. he played some metallica remix that was way off from the rest of his set, there was no flow in what he played... much like the last time i saw him about a year ago or more, i should have learned my lesson then.

Reviews are good coming from most of the folks in Toronto after his show last night at LOT 332. I wasn't at the show so I can't speak for it myself but the reviews appear to be good. However, after seeing some of the tracks listed by those who were there, I would question the programming and flow.

Saw himonce, back in 1998 in Pacha,Ibiza before he was a big name. He rocked the place, one of the best gigs I've ever been too. He played a dance remix of wham-everything she wants (the original I love) and the place went nuts - honestly I can't describe the atmosphere it was unreal.

His MoS Sessions 9 cd isnt that bad either.

Wouldnt bother even listening to a mix from him now though
