hernan has been on form on his show for the past 6 months and he seldom get mentioned ... i was looking forward to his show each week more than diggers but props to diggers for getting his groove back this week

i swear that the track that's played around 00:25:00 in part 2 is a massive dancefloor destroyer ... would love to know what track that is

^^ I post the tracklist as soon as Hernan has put it up on his website and I loved all recent shows a lot.. Hernán is back to full form after a few weaker weeks. All IMO of course. ;)

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

So are the Metrodance shows setup kinda like AVB's ASOT where the 1st hour is just new tracks and the 2nd hour represents more of what he'd spin in a mix at a club?

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

no..he plays new promo tracks in both hours.

Got ya. I'd like to hear more Hernan sets when he's spinning live.

Id hate to tell you but that never happens....Maybe once a year he has a live set "southfest" and thats it. If there is one dj who never has live sets floating around its hernan cattaneo.

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

I just wish hernan would play a bit more vocal proggy, which is what he tends to feature on his cd's. I find some of the recent metrodance stuff to be slightly on the boring side IMO. Last weeks part 2 was very good though.Defo some kind of mix of infusion love and imitation in there and holden & thompson come to me

That's a bummer. I'd really like to hear more sets where he feels he doesn't have to put promos in his set. I do have Southfest set though.

Hernan Keeps it going week after week and never gets boring. Such consistency, I find myself listening to nothing but Hernan. He truly deserves a mention.

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

i just wish the mixing was a bit more on par, not that its horrible, but he sure doesnt put in the effort sometimes. that and all the breaks...why not just do a continuous 2 hour mix and have them cut in the commercials? there is no need to start another new track after every break.

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

the only bad thing about hernan's mixes that are around now is... they all come from metro96.1, and even if he has such a busy schedule, he flies all over the world (as digweed said in his show :) ) but we can't find any of his sets outside of metrodance. why is that?

#510629Post 14 of 19

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

Because he only "releases" live sets when he plays them on his radio show or on the Essential mix. He?s a bit like Digweed on this issue IMO but what can you do? It's his choice or better said deal with the producers that give him the upfront promos so we can argue about it but in the end we have to respect his decision. When he wasn't as known as now, there were more live sets available but nowadays it seems to be a no no. I miss them as well. :(

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

yeah same here. one thing they can never seem to get right with the live sets though is too much crowd noise. If only the metrodance show was a continous mix with no adds but Im not complaining, he's my fav dj and I get to hear his show every week thanks to MS

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

If you wanna listen him live, this Saturday is Creamfields Buenos Aires and his set will very probably be broadcasted live. Just go to www.metro951.com (click on "banda ancha", better sound quality), he will be playing from 00.00-02.00, that is 03-05hs Sunday GMT. Probably they will air part of his set, with some annoying "Metrodance" sounds... but oh well =P

Cya.

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

Not so sure you would be too impressed with Hernan's live sets - they can be a mixed bag at the moment. I saw Hernan at Sankeys Soap a couple of weeks ago ... the first 4 tracks he played were amazing - just dark beautiful prog. The first hour of his 2.5 hr set would have been well worth keeping for prosperity. After that he dragged out the dreaded electro until the last few tracks restored parity.

Re: Hernan Cattaneo (29-10-2005)

I saw Hernan live here in Indianapolis a while back when he was touring w/ Oakenfold on the Perfecto tour. His set was DOPE!!!! He had the whole crowd bouncing as one the entire time. People were actually booing Oakey when Hernan had to step down from the decks. Not that anybody there came to see Oak in the first place.....snicker Of all the Hernan mixes I've heard, live or not, nothing can compare to his set that night. It might just be because of my experience or the massive vibe in the place but...............
