NYE plans?

Not too sure if anyone has posted a thread on this yet, but I wonder if anyone has figured out their plans yet, even though it's over 2 months away. Word is that DT is playing the week after New Years again here in San Francisco. That should be a blast, but as for NYE, nothing looks too amazing yet here in Cali.

I just wish Digweed would do another Avalon set like 2 and 3 years ago, instead of the outdoor Giant festival.

I'm waiting for the news of what's going on here, I haven't heard of anything yet. Stay posted. The past few years I've given up on going out to the clubs on NYE...it seems like that's a night where all the dipshits and dumbasses make it out to embarrass themselves and annoy everyone else in the process. It's kinda a mess...we have such great residencies every other week, I can justify not going out.

Like last year, we'll probably go upstate to the country with another couple and drink till sunrise, play games, laugh our asses off, and dance in the kitchen...much more fun than trying to avoid some dumb asian clubber about to knock you over.

Thats a good point. I'm actually thinking about just hitting a bar for the night and getting a food/drink all-inclusive deal. I'm surprised I have not seen any more ads about parties in NYC for NYE. I guess it is still too early...

Re: NYE plans?

NYE is amateur night...it's when all the people who DON'T go out the other 364 days in the year think they have to make up for that fact and they're willing to pay anything to do it. I'd rather wait a week to see the same djs play longer better sets for at least 25% of the price. I just have made a habit of having friends over after having a nice lobster dinner with the wife :)

Disclaimer: This may only apply to NYC and the surrounding areas as this is what I'm most familiar with...

im glad to see your disclaimer. some areas have jack shit to do until times like new years. i've only been in the NYC area for three years now and i agree with your northeast US theory better nights with fewer people in the clubs. people out here have too much attitude to have any fun.

 - I miss certain clubs in the UK. amazingly deverse crowds and the more people the better time i usually had. it is amazing to see the difference in crowds and how they are to the DJ's and each other in the different areas of the world.

Avalon isn't the biggest of clubs. do you think they will be able to fit both Oakie's ego and all the perfecto promotion? ;)

giant village!

#520119Post 30 of 31

Re: NYE plans?

I might miss the Giant village. First ever that I won't support a Giant event since they began diong them. I don't want to see Diggers playing music I hate. I'll probably head on over to Avalon for a marathon set.:)
