Re: steve lawler...live in canada

he showed up here on his lights out 3 tour, and it was by far the best i've seen him at (having caught his show twice before). not so much on the tribal tip as he used to be, more proggy and definitely more melodic. on top form, either way.

proggy and melodic ....hmmm ..i wonder if his acid phase is over...

Re: steve lawler...live in canada

What city was that in? He's scheduled to play in Toronto on Halloween with full Lights Out 3 decor.

Nope he was in Seattle the other night and played lots of acid/electro sounding stuff. I enjoyed it but not as good as the darker stuff he played some time ago.

Re: steve lawler...live in canada

cool, i guess we got lucky. no acid sounds at all...not that i mind them, but they get old after a couple of tunes.

Re: steve lawler...live in canada

I was there for that show too. No acid to speak of. Just 3 hours of thumping dark agressive house. There may have been a slight acid flare to a few of the tracks but it worked. One of the best sets I've ever heard live. I'll see if I_Get_Radical can post the pics and vids up soon.

edit I'd also like to comment on the absolute quality of Sean Millers opening set. Did a bang up job and got the whole place absolutely movin by the time Lawler got on board after 11, which is hard to do around these parts.

Thanks for the review insight... He is playing in DC this Friday! Glad to hear he's gone progressive melodic.

How was Sean Miller's set? By the looks of things on this end we are not going to get to see him open for Lawler at the Toronto show.

Re: steve lawler...live in canada

Every website and thread I have been to said that Sean Miller has been really rocking the masses for the whole tour. Someone to look for in the future.

Re: steve lawler...live in canada

saw lawler on the 22nd in chicago. played an awesome set. no acid.. more like what MetroSoul said.. dark(er) aggressive house. wasn't as dark as i wouldv've liked... like he played in miami during the conference, but was a phenomenal set nonetheless.

Re: steve lawler...live in canada

Saw him here in Orlando, was a lot better than I expected, danced quite a bit. One of the highlights was Montero - Captain Hook. Only played 1-2 of the kinda boring tribal I had expected.
