Spotted this people a date for the diary, something to look out for Danny Howells: Choice : A Collection Of Classics - Azuli Records Following on from John Digweed's excellent retrospective, next up in the 'Choice' series comes Danny Howells. Scheduled for release in February 2006, Danny is currently working his way through over 100 eclectic classics for the album, and it goes without saying that this will be a stellar album, which kicks off a year nicely for the series which will also see volumes from Giles Peterson, Carl Cox and Richie Hawtin following this edition.

I'm looking forward to hearing this. DH has had a much varied style in the past years. He's played probably any style of edm that there is.

This by far will be the most wildest collection of tracks on a choice album.

Nice to see that after all the success he has had as of late he still wants to push his music farther. I still think after this hits stores I am going to pick it up. It is just that good.

It's a shame this series stopped, the concept was great and with the diversity of the DJ's you would have expected some longevity.

Re: Danny Howells - Choices on Azuli in 2006

I know this thread is old, but I got this 2 CD+DVD edition a couple of months ago. The DVD interview is good, he shows his record collection and talks about his beginnings as a DJ. The cds are good, too. One with very old stuff (it sound ridiculous compared to the music that we have these days), and the second cd a little bit more of his style. It's nice as a part of music history, but I don't listen to it very often... kinda boring

You wanna try the Digweed one, its brilliant, probably the best CD he has done since Communicate

Does anyone know the tracklist for the DVD mix? I can't find one anywhere!

Re: Danny Howells - Choices on Azuli in 2006

In terms of this release I didnt really enjoy it - bit too much eclectic stuff, especially CD2.

However, the two Fire Island tracks on Cd1 are brilliantly mixed together (I'd never heard these tracks before I bought the CD) and are a real highlight

I've picked up the Sanchez Choice this week and its not bad either (if you like Sanchez that is), I might have a punt on the Derrick Carter one, or the Humphries.
