Not sure why but when i tried to burn the Hernan Cattaneo set to a cd...it will not burn because it is not recoginized as a valid audio file.....
I have had this message before wth other downloads (usually becuase it is recorded at a low level) but never had this problem with an ms download from kiss 100
Anybody no how to fix this?? thanks

Right click the file
Rename
put .mp3 on the end of the filename

^^^^i know about all that.....when i rename it to .mp3 and drag and drop it into my cd burner program...it says NOT REGOGNIZED AS VALID AUDIO FILE

I am usisng the stomp record now max (same one i have beeen using for over 3 years)...& I have never ever had any problems...in fact the Hernan Metro sets from this week worked fine...
it is just both the Kiss 100 digweed set and kiss 100 guest mix hernan which wont burn....

Its odd that the software is knitpicking about the file types that way.... do u have other software you can try it with ?

no actually i dont...wonder if anybody eles is having the same problem...
to tell you the truth this is the frist time ever that the ms kiss 100 files wont burn...so i think it has to be in how the set was recorded.....
i just dl the hernan metro set agaain and draged and droped into my recorder and no problems...so it def the kiss 100 file only that doesnt work...just so you know.

chuckc, stupid question but can it be that your changes didnt work? Do you see the file as an mp3 on your hard drive or is it still an unkown application because it has no extension?

when it first is done downloading it has no extention (therfore it an unknow application)
then i renamed it to .mp3
then it will play in winamp....but wen u drag it into the cd recorder....it says
file skipped-not recognized as a valid audio file....

tried that....Its actually not that big of a deal..its only one set among thousands...i think it was ripped wrong
as long as the hernan metro sets burn i am a happy camper. just wouldnt mind hearing the hernnan kiss set on the home stereo (which only plays cd formats)

That?s not what i meant because Winamp plays all kind of Files if it recognizes what they are. Can you actually see the .mp3 extension when you browse your folder on your hard drive? I ask because if you setup your PC new, changing file extensions and viewing file extensions is disabled and from what you said, I thought that you might have added the extension but Windows didn't accept your Changes so Nero still tries to burn an unkown file and this could be causing the Error.

yes i can actually see the extension browsing the folders...like i said every other dl works fine...it just this kiss100....seems to be a ripping issue maybe??

hhmmmm. :lol: Sounds like it?s more like a problem with Nero then. Do you have the latest updates installed? Otherwise, I am clueless how to help you out, sorry.

burned it today with a nero 6. something version..no problems. This does not help you but chances are high that it?s a random, never to figure out why - problem on your side. :lol:

I can't even download the set. it keeps timing out for me.. i've been trying to download it for 5 hours now.. no luck! :-(

also cant see why a low level would mske a difference in your past problems. You could burn an mp3 of complete silence and it wouldn't care.

its cause it was recorded at 22.5khz..you need to convert to 44.1khz using soundforge or wavelab.

Not sure why this would matter but I noticed this set was variable bit rate (VBR), normally the sets are 192. I think you just need to get a different piece of software like Nero and you will be fine. Your burning program is just a bit too picky.
