Re:: The Smiths

Morrissey & Marr were the kings!

I was thinking a few days ago though, with this kind of trend going around of people remixing 80?s stuff, why haven?t we seen some Smiths remixes yet?

I mean, even Tears For f***ing Fears had a great remix.

there's kind of a remix of them

On Erlend Oye - DJ Kicks album, there's a track which consists of the Poor Leno (Silicojn SOul rmx) with the acapella of There's a Light That Never Goes Out on top... and it sounds really good in my opinion. to bad it's kindda short.

Re:: The Smiths

I love The Smiths, and I even liked Morrissey for a time, but then I realized every time I listened to Bona Drag my balls would disappear. I didn't enjoy that.

Only The Smiths from now on when it comes to Morrissey. He needs Marr's wacky guitar to have any testosterone whatsoever, IMO.

Hatful of Hollow and Queen Is Dead are the bomb.

The most depressing i wanna kill myself music i ever hear...

...i love em.

Girl friend in a coma :RightOn:

#218545Post 13 of 47

morrissey/marr

what can i say? use to love them, now it's just too painful/depressing to listen to them.

i mean, how many times can i cry after listening to the queen is dead album?

i'm tired of it.

smiths were great from beginning to the end.

morrissey was great from suedehead to last of the famous international playboys.

after that, it's just been recycled shit.

oh, and "you are the quarry", please, just die already moz.

Re:: The Smiths

Listening to the Smiths was part of my Youth. :P I loved the melancholic voice of Morissey and the always attacking lyrics. Shoplifters of the world unite. :RockOn:

Re:: The Smiths

i preferred Adam & The Ants :oops:

*edit, more of a Depeche Mode fan at the time, who as it goes, churned out a few decent melancholic numbers like Little 15 and Blasphemous Rumours. Top stuff.

Adam and the Ants, Billy Idol and Sigue Sigue Sputnik scared my parents. :RockOn:

Absolutley no shame in that at all my man, i used to go to school disco`s with the white stripe across my nose. Marco Pirroni did give me the shivers though, i always found him to be a bit odd.

And just a quick teaser for you, do you recognise the famous drummer in the background?

#218828Post 23 of 47

um......no, who is it?

#218830Post 24 of 47

Sid Vicious.

#218833Post 25 of 47
Sid Vicious.
Holy shit! :o

I would be guessing circa 1977 then. I actually bought Dirk Wears White Sox before they hit the big time, didn't like it much, but when they hit the big time and i listened again, i really got into it.

#218834Post 26 of 47

*hold on, wasn't his name Marco Pirroni or something? :?

Huge fan of The Smiths! One of the best bands from the late 80's that wasn't all euro synth pop! Guitar, Bass and Drums! Awesome sound! Love all their songs and Albums. They are my favorite non edm group of all time.
