Howells is probably the best option open to the series. Every other decent name seems to be signed up with other labels. You're right.... it's time for some new blood....

With more DJ's being signed to other labels (Renaissance for example with Sander, Hernan, JZ, etc), and with the fact that these CD's must sell to be cost effective (didn't GU almost go under a few years ago), the amount of talent available to GU is actually quite small.

Whilst JVM would IMHO be grand, I'm not sure how GU could truely market it.

Should GU decide they have balls I would go for Moshic, but hey, WTF do i know!

Would seriously not be surprised if they went with someone who is 'in' at the moment i.e. Fanciulli or even Eric Prydz - somebody that the average clubber might be aware of.

Personally would enjoy a Van M, Cusick!!!, or Sander K mix but can't see it happening

Sander K has a new mix CD with Lee Burridge coming out in November and Sean Cusick is lined up for a Bedrock Original Series disc.

Well, from all the people who´ve released something through GU, Anthony Pappa seems to be the one who´s been quieter lately.

It´s obvious that this series needs some new blood though. I agree that Fanciulli now has a big enough profile to do it, but he can´t just release 2 comps in a row, so he might be in for GU30, but not for 29.

That´s a name I´d like to see, but I´d also like to hear a James Holden GU. Reports of his latest sets are very good, including a friend of mine who saw him at Sonar in Barcelona and he supposedly blew everyone else away.

thats actually a very good suggestion. fitting because holden is one of the most innovative guys out there at the moment. although thats not what gu seems to go for anymore. but he can be hit or miss at times, i like when he plays that acidy shit.

to who suggested anthony pappa - did i last see his name for an upcoming balance cd? i remember seeing a 4 or 5 disk cd somewhere, but havent heard anything about if for awhile. i remember the tracklisting having some old school shit on it. but he wont be on gu.

the thing is, who do they have available to even do a new one? it seems like the last thing they want to do is bring somebody new in. everybody who is doing anything of great signifigance is on renaissance or somewhere. so i honestly don't even know who it could be. is there anyone left on gu's roster who still has a mix left in there contract?
