Going to see him tomorrow in Zurich and havent heard any comments on him playing live in quit sometime , any feedback?????

how long is he playing, and is he the closer? how long does the club stay open.

if he is closing and the place stays open into the morning, count on being blown away.

and the longer he plays, the better he is

a 3 hour set NEVER lets john do his thing.

The night is being advertised as 11 to 9 and it ios his come back after he let us down the last time he was supposed to be here and he couldn t make it , Is he still playing alot of electro based on the reviews I ve been reading this summer ??????

if he plays until 9, id say go get pills. seriously, his set at spirit in NY was a mind fuck. no electro, just BASSLINES and evil sounds. he seemed to be back on twilo form.8)

Go see him. I seen him in june and it was aweseom. Nice evil, dark basslines just like the good old days of evil diggers. No electro at all. You will not regret going. Have fun and be prepared to be twisted.

I've seen him three times this year.

First was at the Pawn Shop in Miami - Stellar, one of the best nights ever!

Second was at Breathe's 5yr Anniversary at System Soundbar, Toronto in June - Very, very dark and methodic for all five hours. Quality music but super intense, maybe too much so. System is an intimate underground club so its pretty easy to slip into the dark stuff if that's what you have in your case.

Third was at Labour of Love at the Guvernment Complex, Toronto - Big room bombs all three hours. 3000+ were off their rocker throughout. Incredible experience for sure.

I saw him in Ibiza @ Pacha - he was bang on form and had ditched most of the electro.I won't say it too loud .. but I'm even sure that there was some prog house in there.

Is nature evil or just natural? A hurricane, tornado or a lion feeding on it's weaker prey for instance, is that evil or natural? Why does his sound have be labeled as evil? Do you know how Mr. Digweed would feel about you labeling his style as such? Personally, I don't know exactly what Digweed's inner most thoughts are on this topic of discussion, but I do know how I would feel if someone labeled me as the "Lord of Darkness" insinuating or attempting to make a rather bold statement that I'm Satan or a freaking demon. Especially if he feels the way I do about the selection of music that he has spun throughout his career. It's a matter of perspective I guess. Although if you're going to openly categorize someone's style, try being a little more considerate about the unknown spiritual stance of the individual. By stating that Digweed is "evil" if in fact he isn't then you're metaphorically stepping on the man's dick. If you know something I don't from a factual interview presented by a credible source, where Mr. Digweed has stated that he is in fact evil and is doing his best to spread a seed to the masses to corrupt our souls as I would assume the true "prince of darkness" would, then by all means enlighten me.

I apologize for ranting out a bit, but it really irritates when I see so many people everywhere labeling his music as "evil". I've never felt this way about it. And by all means, please elaborate if you know something I don't. Thanks.

@chief n - it's merely a nickname because he really pushed the darker side of dance music foward a few years back and no one can do it better. you are looking into a nickname way too much bro. you need to relax.

^^^ I have a feeling he doesen't mind. Would edgy be a better word to use? I don't think anyone means evil or dark in a negative way, after all you don't see people killing others after a Digweed gig. I think if we were calling his music happy or fluffy it would be more offensive than calling it evil or dark.

I gotcha. I think it was the combination of evil and "Lord of Darkness" describing Digweed's style all in a solitary thread that triggered my response.
