you wouldn't believe the number of older ladies who came up and asked about 'habersham' thinking it was a bible verse or scripture. of course that was sort of the parody i was aiming for... the suit, the stack of bibles (er, i mean cds), 'habersham 9:16' (chapter 9 verse 16... or friday september 16th -- the night of the event).

i was a bit nervous at first, and the first gal that passed me heard 'so... what are you doing friday night?' come out of my mouth. she rolled her eyes and said something like... "I HAVE PLANS!!!' :D

as things rolled on, the people passing by got friendlier and started taking the cds and flyers. a lot of people didn't even want to make eye contact. i'm guessing they thought i had something to do with religion or some crazy cult (the habershamians? habershamers? habershamonians?).

funniest quote of the day from an older lady:

her: what is a habersham? me: he's a dj who's playing at the quest club in downtown minneapolis this friday night. would you like a free cd with some of his mixes? her: no, i don't like djs (as she walks away)

everytime i see those photos i get a good laugh. but in all seriousness with the watered down club scene here in minneapolis this is the kind of thing you need to do to have a successful clubnight. the show kicked ass by the way!
