Absolutely killer party. The Guvernment often gets a bad rap, and rightfully so on many nights, but LOL really brings out the best in the complex. A killer line-up, tons of vibe and a world class venue made for a party that many will never forget.

lots o lasers n lights. sounds like fun, but not my kind of club. i could remember going there back in 02 and 03 and having my eye poked out by 10 different lasers at one time. as for diggers, was he back to layin down progressive?

the guvernment is primarily a trance venue, hence the horn and crazy a$$ lights. most often its a place more about the party than the music. each saturday, regardless of who's there, there can be no guest at all, its packed... completely rammed. unfortunately this often creates a very stetchy unappealing place to dance.

however, i have to give the promoters credit. they still bring in huge names, accross all genres, allowing everyone the opportunity to hear their favorites in big and small space environments. you have seven different rooms and over 10 000 people all under one roof every long weekend throughout the year. if you go there knowing you'll be in close quarters, in a very overwhelming atmosphere, then you're guaranteed a great time.

there are a lot of jaded torontonians that will argue that at all times this is the worst venue on the face of this earth. but i think they just don't comprehend how lucky we are to have this option. as tiesto is for the scene as a whole, the guvernment is the gateway into the tdot clubbing scene for most people. toronto wouldn't be nearly as rich in clubbing resources, if it weren't for the existence of the guvernment complex.

i agree that the guvy is a little too much to deal with on a normal night. but on a night like this past sunday, when diggers drops the big room mega bombs throwing 3000 plus into an incredible frenzy every break down, i thank the underground Gods for that place.

the ug god's like Addy, Dekoze, P-Jack, and of course Kenny Glasgow?

Toronto and Montreal are probably the bestcities in North America for our music. It thrives in those cities. And the women are so fine.

One more thing. Where else in the world will you pay 10-15 bucks (CAD) to see an A-class dj? Many of the Guv bashers don't even realize that in many US cities you have to pay 50 bucks every friday or saturday.

Re: Labour of Love - Guvernment, Toronto

oh my god. this ranks as one of the best nights of my life. diggers was dropping progressive bombs one after another all night. and i dig the train horn during peak time because i think they turn the volume up. that video clip does not do that night justice at all. that cold air felt so good! diggers had the place jumping for 3 hours straight. what a great night. nice to finally meet you gregor and thanks for everything. wish you could have been there stevo and brian.. -ryan
