good luck with that...

Cusick sets in the wild are so rare, it's like finding a four leaf clover in the Mojave Desert... but hey, stranger things have happened.
q6 actually gave us written permission to record the set. in fact, he recorded the set with the intention of releasing it , in part, as his next TCA demo- in addition to being played on SPIN radio. with this being the case, we will certainly extend him the courtesy of allowing him to review the set before it is released. it is the decent, moral, and professional thing to do.
2 hour set??
1:54 main set with a 0:20 encore.
(glad to see you're using a mac)
what am i, a neanderthal?

it was spiffy - at the end of the set, sean handed me a slick mini-40gb firewire drive.

it was just one of those moments...

I've got the steve porter one at my house...not sure where the others wound up. I love this thing!

Now that looks NICE!!!!!!!!!

Have you thought about selling the others on ebay. I think they might help you to cover the costs of having those posters made.

I'll take the Fortier one if you wanna get rid of it.

Seriously though. I can't wait to hear this Q6 set. You guys have got my mouth watering just waiting for it.

Re: sean cusick

Amazing DJ.. seen him open twice for Digweed and even saw him back in the mid 90s at Firstone in Orlando, FL when he was just a rezi!

Happen to know that he can't stand it when pplz approach him at a show and say they are w/ XYZ forum. -E- and I found that out. Thinks we are all loosers or something... but another story for another thread.

Cheers Cusick, from all of us loosers.

did he tell you that?

Re: sean cusick
did he tell you that?
Not only me, but Encryption and Magnus. Here is a flashback, read what I have in BOLD:

Holy shit Magnus welcome onboard mate
Hey Kamal. Was a blast hanging out with you guys. Here is my review since my other site is up and down occasionally:
This show was the best show I've ever seen. Arriving at 11:45 with Algy (Algorithm) we quickly found a parking space albeit $20 in the hole. We hit the VIP line and got in within a few minutes. The Club has several shows going on at once. Private areas and seating were hidden in various stairwells and hallways. I have to say that I am impressed with the club on first glance. The bathrooms had an attendant and were very clean even though there were some drug deals going on in the stalls. They kept the place very cool so sweating was optional and determinate on your endurance. The first order of the evening was to secure some drink. The club doesn't charge cover if you get in before 11:30. Either way, they make up for that in drink prices. $4 Water, $6 red bull, $8 pisswater beer, $12 liquor, etc...Algy and I easily spent $100 in alcohol that evening.

The club had several areas and we finally found the right room where Sean Cusack was spinning some dark evil. Even though Sean is a self-righteous, arrogant and someone who thinks very little of the people on the internet with a few subtle jabs at the "nerds" on the net, he can grind some wicked beats. He also felt the crowd did not give him enough love with his sets from a remark he made about how we thought we reacted to him as if he was the "backup singers from foghat [paraphrased]". I guess he is a little Jealous of the love we showed for Digweed. Who cares. Play your music, prep the crowd and move over beat monkey!

Digweed opened strong and hard at 1am. He was scheduled to be on until 3am. 3am came and went and the security and management of the club were getting antsy. They allowed John to play until 4 where they decided they could turn on the overhead lights so as to send a subtle message that we should wrap up and get ready to leave. They already closed the bars and balconies and they were cleaning the place up. Digweed didn't even appear to notice the lighting and continued to load the CDs. One button and the building was pounding. Glow didn't know what hit them. They turned off the lights again and John pushed it til 4:45 where he decided he was done and the club could close. John then signed some autographs and proceeded to press the flesh. Sean Cusack badmouthed everyone on the internet indirectly and started telling us that every work with "AL" in the front is arabic. Thanks for the fucking linquistics lesson you ungrateful tool! In the future when the internet is the only place you can get music out you'll learn to appreciate us "Nerds".

Cameras are forbidden in Glow. I guess they don't want people taking pics of the drug deals or dealers. I was able to bring in my phone however that has a psuedo decent 1.3mp camera in it. At one point I forgot about the ban and started taking pictures openly. Only to have some Bald-headed "Old-man-in-the-monopoly-game" looking dickhead grab my phone while I had it in my clutches and demand to see it. I showed him a few photo's and told him it is a shitty camera phone. He thought it was a camera from where he was and honestly it looks like a camera. so he told me to "put it away already". Damage done. I had about 30 pictures. Only 6-7 came out ok and I included them here.

The Fortier one would be hanging up at my place. Though, it's hard to find room for it. This one was 4 x 8 instead of 2 x 6 like the rest of them.

Fortier wanted it, but was told he couldn't have it. He said, "That's okay, I'll buy it on eBay in a few weeks I'm sure"

My favorite one is the Cusick banner with "Sexy House and Techno" written on it. Who ended up with that one? Stitch or Blackbelt or did Cusick take it for himself?

That such great news. I can't wait th hear this q6 set. I really hope he releases this set.

#476038Post 58 of 87

Re: sean cusick

I was reading those remarks about Q6's behaviour, and I think that is probably why he doesn't have any albums coming out or isn't nearly as well known as he could be if he wasn't a bit of an ass.

4X8 for a poster. Damn that thing must have cost some serious $$ to have it made.

#476055Post 59 of 87

Re: sean cusick

I don't remember him being an ass at all?

The only thing that everyone kept saying all night was how friendly/hilarious he was. People LOVED him.

#476067Post 60 of 87

Re: sean cusick

A few of my friends hung out with him the night in question (DC in June) as well as over Labor Day weekend in DC again and had nothing but wonderful things to say as well. And he was hilarious and seemed to have a good time in Pittsburgh even though I wouldn't let him drive my car to dinner or anywhere else that we went that night.

I also got a few more pictures of the night here as well - which include more hot girls and more Aaron Clark

#477419Post 64 of 87

Re: sean cusick

Well I guess it's all in the way he might have felt that day. It sucks that when you are in the public eye, if you have one bad day but have to be out in public. Something is bound to happen and then it pins you as a bad person.

I'm not saying anything personally about him. As I do not know the guy.

There were many parts, all concerning certain topics... I believe some are still up on 365mag.

Re: sean cusick
if Cusick doesnt OK the set for release I will be quite shocked, its about as perfect as it gets.
Can he sue you if you release it without his permission. I know he doesn't have a copyright on it as it has not obviously been registered with the government.

#493544Post 78 of 87

been waiting for this to be released for a while now. Cant wait to check it out. Hope he gives the ok soon.

a copyright is in place upon creation. no need to register anything. releasing a set without his permission is a bad move imo. last I heard still no word from sean.
