So, I know a similar thread was created many years ago, but I was wondering which hobby (if any) do you have to spend your free time. I'd like to ask you this, now that many years have gone by and most of us have kids and all the family stuff and compromises. And, to be honest, to have perhaps some inspiration, because I'd like to try something new and/or creative. To add my 2 cents, I recently took an online course of Adobe Photoshop to play around with photographs I take. Besides that, listen to some music, and some time for meditation.

Re: Hobbies anyone?

HTML has been a hobby of mine for a few years, then it turned into a job.

Then art, definitely a hobby (I don't have a collection, of course, I just read books)

Finally, military models, tanks in particular.

Re: Hobbies anyone?

I have also turned hobbies into jobs. I have had two careers, photography and furniture restoration. Both started as hobbies. :)

Music is my biggest hobby. :)

Re: Hobbies anyone?

Music is more than just a hobby for me. Too bad that the music blog/site linked to Soundcloud (70.000 followers, baby!) with Chunky never happened.

A side interest that can count as a hobby is rediscovering the prog rock bands of my teen years :) .

Re: Hobbies anyone?

photography is 1/2 my income now, so no longer a hobby.

modifying my car is a fun hobby, expensive though (bmw)

this may sound strange but been enjoying a bit of bird watching lately, not formally, just fun watching eagles, hawks, finches, cardinals, what have you - do what they do

enjoying participating in my 6 yr olds hobbies - bmx, baseball... lacrosse pretty soon

Re: Hobbies anyone?
photography was my first love, and I´m still into it every time I can. What´s your job? studio photographer? events?
I haven't done any paid photography for over twenty years. I used film cameras  When I did do it it was entertainment industry orientated. movie stills , actors head shots etc, and sometimes music events , but they were as much for my pleasure. :) But my true love was the darkroom, you really got be creative in a way that just brought out the best of a shot without using anything fake. There was real skill involved. And I was bloody good at it. !! I also taught darkroom .

I gave that up with digital era, I just didn't enjoy it anymore. I have a Nikon dslr and a leica point and shoot , but harder ever use them. I actually dream about being back in the darkroom . I loved it. !! :D

Lucky I had always restored furniture literally since I was a kid, it was my second career and I do that now. It's the ultimate in recycling and can be incredibly rewarding. Most of my life I have been self employed.

Btw I have taken a camera to dance events , but I only want to dance. !! And I want to do as much of that as I possibly can !! :D

I don't like digital cameras. Look up some of the amazing old hollywood star pics taken with an old hassleblad . They are magnificent.

Re: Hobbies anyone?

Music, single malt whiskey and red wine also count as mine although not as much as I used to....

I like to walk in a local park wearing the Bose and just switching off from the hussle and bussle of it all

Reading psychotherapy casestudies is another

Always looking to spend quality time with the kids and being creative in doing so....they are growing up so fast

Have fancied myself doing a spot of gardening - will revisit it I think this year

Great work there ddr ;)

Re: Hobbies anyone?

^ (Didi) I was a big fan of photography when I used film cameras. The digital era took away the joy. I´ve recently took some lessons of digital photography and DSLRs, but it´s not the same. A good thing is you can edit and enhance the pic later.

Re: Hobbies anyone?

Chuck have you ever used Paintless Dent Repair? I had 4 dents removed recently (long story) and I highly recommend them. I can give you a recommendation if you're in Tampa. Sweet ride mate.

Thanks Everyone.

Hey Redrock, I have been wanting to get those repaired for a while now. I actually sent pics to a business that does that type of work (cant remember the exact business name) but after reviewing the pictures they said their repairs would not work on my vehicle :(

I am willing to give it another try, If you can sen me your recommendation that would be great! I am in the greater Tampa area just north of Bradenton Fl.

Re: Hobbies anyone?

^^Hers is the same year , but it's a 4 door. It is that midnight blue colour . She bought it from America, so left hand drive. It was totally original and pale yellow, then it was caught in a hail storm and badly damaged so when she got it repaired she had it done in that midnight blue.

It's actually not as loud as I thought it would be. It is quite loud at cold start but mellows out once warmed up. I am really enjoying it though.

Re: Hobbies anyone?

DDR have you had a professional tune done yet? I’m about to go stage 2 on my ride - should be a major jump in power (skipping stage 1).

nah, i am still under warranty so catback is about as much non-cosmetic i can do to the car at the moment. my WRX is also a CVT auto so i could go stage 1 in the future, stage 2 might be pushing it as far as reliability goes.

what do you got REDROCK?

#1785721Post 36 of 46

Re: Hobbies anyone?

Bmw 320i - 3" axle back magnaflow exhaust - about to go stage 2 using bm3. just installed a new stepped FMIC... and i have a 4" catless dp on, so with 93 octane, she's ready :Yahoo:
