Hey kiddies welcome to Joe-land. Please keep your arms and legs inside of the vehicle until it has come to a complete stop. I appreciate the opportunity to serve each and every one of you a special helping of your favorite DJs each and every week. This week we have some awesome exclusives and specials!

You asked for it and you got it - many of you were going ape over Muzo B's guest mix on JorgeDept's show on MercurySessions called 'Natural High' so we thought we'd make the mix available to you in its entirety. We all know and respect Muzo's talent and this mix is no different. He delivers the goods like only a Turkish dude can! :P

Secondly, we have an exclusive mix from none other than Tyler Stadius. I contacted Tyler a few weeks back and asked if he would mind putting together a mix for us to which he enthusiastically replied, "Absolutely!" Well, he has outdone himself with this one. A little darker than most of the mixes you've heard from him, this one will definitely give you the heebie-jeebies.

Lastly, we are hosting a special that was originally played live at WMC this past April. I, along with a few others from the board, was in attendance at the 'Loaded' party which featured many of the up and coming names in the industry. I solely went to this gig to see a guy by the name of Patrick Campbell; better known as Darkarma. I can tell you that it was far and away one of the better nights of the conference imo and this set sends shivers down my spine the same way that it did that night in Miami. If you like it dark and progressive, this mix will be a surefire hit!

Enjoy lads and lasses!

His teenage years were spent playing drums with his high school band "Stoned Bricks", covering alternative rock artists and playing their own blues tunes. But his ever intensifying 'technolust' soon made him realize what could be done with new technologies in music.

By this time he started living in Boston. He spent most of his time figuring out how to use the aforementioned technologies. Countless Friday nights spent with Yunus G?venen and Barish Turker at the legendary Twilo was a major influence throughout his years in the US. The last couple of years in Boston were spent hanging out with Ali Ajami, and Ali encouraging Muzo to explore further possibilities with his music.

eturning to Istanbul for what was supposed to be a short vacation on September 9, 2001, he decided to stay there and started a residency at NuClub with Yunus G?venen. Since then he has played at various events and clubs in Turkey such as Crystal, Venue, Joy, Filter and Reactor parties. He became a member of Istanbul's prolific Together crew known for their musically diverse nights they promoted at Istanbul's premiere night club Crystal. Being the technical wonderkid that he is, he is responsible for the technical infrastructure of Istanbul's brand new electronic radio station Dinamo 103.8 FM.

He remains the radio's head of production and is an essential part of its day-to-day operations. Red Flag Collective, a brand new record label he started with Yunus G?venen, Subsky and Barish T?rker is already creating quite a stir in the industry.

On the production front, his release "Shen" on Silver Planet grabbed the attention of many. His crossover bootleg of Eurythmics' "17 Again" gained support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Armin van Buuren, Graham Gold, John '00' Flemming, Scott Bond, Satoshi Tommie etc. With more output coming on Confi-Dance, Pangea, Segment and Red Flag Collective; 2005 is set to be a great year.

Because his father was a disco, funk & soul diehard, Tyler was always surrounded by a variety of musical styles. In Toronto, Canada, Tyler spent the latter part of the 80's stage-diving and frontlining as lead singer in various punk bands. In 1989, while attending film school, Tyler hosted numerous warehouse parties in the downtown core. Not happy with what the DJ's were playing, he decided to provide the music himself, playing a mix of reggae, funk, hip hop, acid jazz & house. In 1991, Tyler moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. The underground music scene consisted of pop techno and early rave. Tyler was one of the first DJ's to introduce house music to Vancouver, spinning at all the warehouse parties and raves.

In 1992, Tyler started "Romper Room", his first residency. This club was the only place to hear proper house by artists like: Murk, Todd Terry, Kerri Chandler, and Masters at Work. Tyler was quickly recognized as Vancouver's top house DJ. Tbone's mixed tapes and cd's have received outstanding reviews by respected publications such as, Muzik, DJ, Mixer, URB, XLR8R, & iD. It wasn't long before word spread and Tyler was playing at some of the best club nights in the world: The Shelter & Red Dog in Chicago, DIY / Bounce, Back to Basics, The Rex in Paris, Space at Bar Rhumba, Tribal Function, Radius, Wiggle, and Fabric. Over the years Tyler has brought to town, and played along side many of the world's top DJ's such as Doc Martin, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Murk, Little 'Louie' Vega, Deep Dish, Ritchie Hawtin, Derrick May, Global Communications, Kenny Hawkes, Terry Francis, Pure Science, Evil Eddie Richards, to name a few. In 1994, Tyler and a partner, opened "Bassix" in Vancouver, soon recognized as one of the best record shops in Canada.
you're hosting unscreened sets?
When it's Tyler Stadius I have no doubt that it's going to be spot on. I scanned through it quickly, but I've got my computer speakers locked up in storage until the house is finished so it makes it very difficult to do. I just picked up a pair of Shure earbuds though, so it's on!

Re: Muzo B, Tyler Stadius, Darkarma (Live)

i dont really do mixes, i just record when i do a live set....but i did do an ambient/downtempo mix for chloes proton show, which i may continue with that series in the future....otherwise I am working on 2 full artist albums, one of which should be finished shortly and released on my own digital label "hdmt records" under the moniker automata, the other will be a full length darkarma album. I should have some samples up on the website once I get a chance to revamp the site. at the moment its really outdated...

thanks again guys patrick

#476649Post 24 of 32

Hey Patrick. It was my pleasure to host the set. I had no doubts that it would cause everyone's jaw to drop to the floor...and I was right. Keep up the great work and I definitely look forward to your new stuff.

Please, please, please keep us updated.

Re: Muzo B, Tyler Stadius, Darkarma (Live)

Had to dig this thread out of this black hole again... I would like to mention that Tyler Stadius? set is, for me, the mix of the year. It?s house, it?s not, it?s progressive, but with a techy edge, it?s just what I would want to hear at home AND at a party. There is so much going on in this mix, it?s just awesome.

Two questions: 1. Is there any chance for a tracklist?

Can anyone recommend a set similar to this?

Cheers8) Chatter

Tyler's mixes can be heard almost every month on Proton. Hit him up at www.djtbone.com and find request that he make another download available to us. :wink2:

Re: Muzo B, Tyler Stadius, Darkarma (Live)

Ska: Will do, you can count on me ;)

Btw, I?ve tried several Proton-mixes of him from Soulseek, but nothing comparable to this mercurysessions-mix... unfortunately...
