Good luck with that one. Who knows, maybe hell has frozen over and he will allow it.

Will never happen. Digweed will not allow you to record his set.

Re: Recording live sets?

Especially Digweed...you will get a no. It's going to be hard to get into most clubs with a DAT recorder or another form, unless they aren't really doing any searches. And even with that, you are going to have so much crowd noise, etc. since you will have to keep it in your pocket because the moment you start holding it up to record better, that's when security will most likely eject you.

That's about as smart as Porky Pig converting to Islam.

Re: Recording live sets?

just go up to Digweed and ask him...

he seems so nice in that Groove movie.

maybe he will give you a copys of all his tracks.

if the bouncers give you any trouble ask them if they need a hug?

just have someone set it up undercover......go for it

#455107Post 11 of 20

his sound technician will never let it happen, much less digweed. your chances of winning the lottery are greater.

Re: Recording live sets?

i'm pretty sure that Digweed records all of his sets himself, so he'll be difficult to get one from.

in general i think the promoter has to set this up before the gig starts. its an uncomfortable situation to ask a dj for permission after they have already entered the booth. the promoter should give the okay, then the device should be properly set up before anyone walks into the club.

overall set recording is a sketchy process. a dj isn't as loose at the decks when they know its being recorded and not under their full control.

Re: Recording live sets?

then i will just say i will do it,

so if someone from his bunch is reading this, they wont know if i have done so or not.

heheh, joke

only there is a possibility that maybe promoter gets beaten by digger...

somedays i just wonder why he doesnt let people to record his sets? it can only be better for him, i suppose.

Re: Recording live sets?

Here's the plan:

  1. Set off some tear-gas and clear out the club
  2. You snuck in a gas mask - use it - find your way to the booth
  3. When people start re-entering the club, hide the mask
  4. Put 2 Alka-Seltzers in your mouth to create foaming action
  5. Have a few bottles of water and claim your ok
  6. Proceed to ask for VIP passes, or you'll contact an attorney
  7. Take the recording, upload it to usendit, then PM the links

Easy as pie.

Re: Recording live sets?

GENIUS!!!

I know we really shouldn't be dragging this up again, but it kinda adds to the argument of the unlikelihood of that Fabric set floating round being an actual diggers set. Of all places I can hardly see someone at Fabric saying yes to getting it recorded, or even someone secretly recording it without him seeing.

Just caught this thread by total accident, but I would like to hear how this ended. If you have any final info to this predicament, lets hear it.
