Looking for some help please people

Just got the new 7 and discovered it wont connect with itunes on my laptop.

Seems like my laptop is too old for some reason, ive tried updating everything and still wont sync.

Trouble is that i used to just drag and drop mixes onto my phone but obviously i cant do that now.

Anyone know if theres a way round this other than buying a new laptop or macbook?

I need to fill this new phone with all the class mixes about just now 8)

I had the same problem a few years back. I used a program like this

I think that is Apples plan.. no more headphone jack so now you have to buy a ton of adapters, or there will be Beats with the lightning jack built in, joy.

Did you try updating to the newest iTunes? Might be it or they once again changed the way to import files.

Re: Iphone 7 and mp3's

You can use neutron music player app and bypass iTunes too, it lets you drag and drop files via ftp, plus it plays all audio formats and has lots of customisation, much better then the stock iOS app. You get it in the App Store for about 4 quid.

It's nothing to do with the adapters. His PC is just too old. I had the same issue. You either have to update your PC, or use a third party program.

I realize that :) I am just venting about Apple a bit since I think the 7 is a joke and their new Macbook Pro is a joke... my opinion of course.

I was an iPhone user from the 2 all the way to the 6 then switched to Samsung's S7 Edge this summer, Android OS opened my eyes as far as flexibility and ease of use was concerned, Apple blindfold is gone.

Back on the topic at hand though.. I can just drag and drop any mp3 to the my phone's device via folders (any folder I pick as well, either on the device's internal hard drive or on a 128gb sd card inserted into the device for extra storage) and any music player I use will pick it up - Android won't rename it to some garbled mess of letters either. ie.. don't need a music player on my computer to manage it all via sync or drag inside the software.

Re: Iphone 7 and mp3's

^^ You are so right. !!! I have always been a huge Apple fan. I'm now thinking of some way to get away from them. I'm thinking about going back to an actual basic phone. I did have a Samsung for about a month at one stage and it was terrible at even being a phone.

Apple have got to the stage where if I upgrade just about anything I end with features I don't want or need and some that work against the way I want to use my device, and use heaps of data.

Re: Iphone 7 and mp3's

Apple dropping usb must be the cruelest prank in computer history. And that Star Trek bar.

New with the 7!! Now dropping the headphone jack! Apple must be asking to lose market share :) Fine by me.. Android OS is superior anyways.

I also picked up an Android tablet.. the Nvidia Shield. App store has a free rom emulator so now I can play the NES, SNES, Sega, etc games that I own on it.. so awesome. Also picked up a 128gb Samsung micro USB stick, so I can play/listen/view whatever I have on it on the device also by just plugging it in. Not to mention that I can download a RAR or ZIP file and the OS will gladly decompress it to any folder of my choosing right on my phone or tablet... you know, use the computer device as a computer device :)

Sorry that this thread morphed into an Apple hating fest but yea.

Re: Iphone 7 and mp3's

No hating, it's a fact that they do whatever they like, even if it defies good sense. I'd gladly buy the new Mac but Apple keeps on removing good features, out of the blue. Remember firewire? Anyway, I was thinking more about the music producers than the regular Mac users. The impact these changes will have on their work, not of another Mac vs. PC boring debate.

Re: Iphone 7 and mp3's

I just went with the iPhone 7 from years of android. People still drag and drop music files?

Google Play music. It's compatible with both android and iOS. And you can move all of your owned music to it. It's how I listen to music even with the new iPhone.

I do the same with OneDrive + Groove music (its a bit cheaper than google play overall).. I only have a few GBs of music on my actual phone.
