Re: Nubreed returns to Global Underground

Mike Griego – Sofia feat. Amber Long (Guy Mantzur Remix) Such pedigree names , why do they have to spoil with an ordinary vocalist.

I have quite a few Nubreeds will look forward to hearing more. :)

I like to get some of the ones that were stolen. It's annoying to have disc1 or disc2 but not both.

Re: Nubreed returns to Global Underground

I know I have said this before , but my first ever electronic dance music CD , given to me by a friend, was Satoshi's Nubreed. And I have played part of it in the last week. :) So I am a tad sentimental about Nubreed. :)

Re: Nubreed returns to Global Underground

I really like this cat here: https://soundcloud.com/gabrhome.

As usual, GU's strategies are unfathomable to me. Btw, Jim Rivers too disappeared after a GU release.

I saw Jim Rivers last month as Copy Paste Soul. Ashley Casselle, who played the after party would have been more deserving, back in the NuBreed day.

Lol. Ok, but it's not a classic GU release, c'mon. I'm waiting for Los Angeles but I don't like these boxsets with crazy extras .)

Re: Nubreed returns to Global Underground

the stalactites set is a classic though https://soundcloud.com/whitefridaynight/deep-dish-stalactites-guacara-taina-dominican-republic-12-27-2002

has a lot of the same tunes as the toronto discs too.

edit whoops that's not even the whole set

Yeah. It's kinda weird that their GU cd's never had the same impact as the live sets from the same era.

Good to see the "nu breed series" again, but with a big name It would have been great.

My friend Sara was at the Stalactites night :) - we were dating at the time - wish I could have been there

Re: Nubreed returns to Global Underground

I was bought this as a present. After reading the sleeve notes I was expecting the greatest mix CD of all time, but it's actually quite a ploddy release really.

Honestly check out the sleeve notes if you can - ridiculously fawning!

There is no benefit in buying mix CD's anymore. You find better mixes online and they don't cost anything.
There is no benefit in buying mix CD's anymore. You find better mixes online and they don't cost anything.
I don't agree with that at all. !! There are really great mixes out there for free, and I am incredibly grateful. But there is so much more to a CD, the quality most importantly , but the artwork and the sleeve notes. I just love getting my cds. !! :D

Re: Nubreed returns to Global Underground

I don't think I'll ever stop buying CDs. I much prefer to have a tangible item as opposed to a disposable mp3 file that can stay hidden on a hard drive somewhere.
