Cusick's set was AEWSOME! Got it playing right now!
 Hook some brothas up
Cusick dropped the first track from Diggers May 2nd 2004 Kiss show...its an old one, but the dance floor was grooving. I was just saying that I tunned into that one on my Ipod....I wish I had his set from Saturday!

Cusick is the man. I always love his sets. Live or recorded.

Re: John Digweed - June 19, 2005
im not a dj so i don't know the names of the tracks but i only recognized three records all night and i listen to his show every week.

one being the track ricky already talked about (cusik's set). the second being digweed's new mix that he played on his show a couple weeks back (big vocal) and then he played moby lift me up (the same mix they dropped at crobar back in march) but didn't fully let it kick in.

how's that for a trainspotter. but i did trainspot about 10 beers, i id'ed them correctly!
10 - 16 oz. BudLights...that's my boy!

I recognized one or two more(from shows & and one from Sasha's recent Essential mix), but I was...

Re: John Digweed - June 19, 2005

I posted some pictures and my review here. It was an epic show and I avoided just tossing out the obvious praise and focused on some of the other elements of the evening.

Also, I say a lot of shit about Cusack but know that I think he is an amazingly talented artist albeit an asshat. So /flame off

I was at FUR and was absolutely BLOWN AWAY! Is there any chance that a recording of that set would be available?? I have to hear it again.

I personally saw him hook up his digital recorder to the mixer @ The Mayan. I saw him unplug the recorder @ Space last year and plug his own. I guess he became paranoid after the Beirut set. I don't think that many will get a recording past him these days.

Hey Kamal. Was a blast hanging out with you guys. Here is my review since my other site is up and down occasionally:
This show was the best show I've ever seen. Arriving at 11:45 with Algy (Algorithm) we quickly found a parking space albeit $20 in the hole. We hit the VIP line and got in within a few minutes. The Club has several shows going on at once. Private areas and seating were hidden in various stairwells and hallways. I have to say that I am impressed with the club on first glance. The bathrooms had an attendant and were very clean even though there were some drug deals going on in the stalls. They kept the place very cool so sweating was optional and determinate on your endurance. The first order of the evening was to secure some drink. The club doesn't charge cover if you get in before 11:30. Either way, they make up for that in drink prices. $4 Water, $6 red bull, $8 pisswater beer, $12 liquor, etc...Algy and I easily spent $100 in alcohol that evening.

The club had several areas and we finally found the right room where Sean Cusack was spinning some dark evil. Even though Sean is a self-righteous, arrogant and someone who thinks very little of the people on the internet with a few subtle jabs at the "nerds" on the net, he can grind some wicked beats. He also felt the crowd did not give him enough love with his sets from a remark he made about how we thought we reacted to him as if he was the "backup singers from foghat [paraphrased]". I guess he is a little Jealous of the love we showed for Digweed. Who cares. Play your music, prep the crowd and move over beat monkey!

Digweed opened strong and hard at 1am. He was scheduled to be on until 3am. 3am came and went and the security and management of the club were getting antsy. They allowed John to play until 4 where they decided they could turn on the overhead lights so as to send a subtle message that we should wrap up and get ready to leave. They already closed the bars and balconies and they were cleaning the place up. Digweed didn't even appear to notice the lighting and continued to load the CDs. One button and the building was pounding. Glow didn't know what hit them. They turned off the lights again and John pushed it til 4:45 where he decided he was done and the club could close. John then signed some autographs and proceeded to press the flesh. Sean Cusack badmouthed everyone on the internet indirectly and started telling us that every work with "AL" in the front is arabic. Thanks for the fucking linquistics lesson you ungrateful tool! In the future when the internet is the only place you can get music out you'll learn to appreciate us "Nerds".

Cameras are forbidden in Glow. I guess they don't want people taking pics of the drug deals or dealers. I was able to bring in my phone however that has a psuedo decent 1.3mp camera in it. At one point I forgot about the ban and started taking pictures openly. Only to have some Bald-headed "Old-man-in-the-monopoly-game" looking dickhead grab my phone while I had it in my clutches and demand to see it. I showed him a few photo's and told him it is a shitty camera phone. He thought it was a camera from where he was and honestly it looks like a camera. so he told me to "put it away already". Damage done. I had about 30 pictures. Only 6-7 came out ok and I included them here.
Re: John Digweed - June 19, 2005

That may have been the best set that i have ever seen Digweed play. Some of the baselines and breakdowns were wicked Especially the track that he dropped at 3:15 with what seemed to be a 4:00min. breakdown. Sean Cusick had a great building set for John. The music was brilliant all night but after 3:00am it got insane. If it was not for club staff I could have seen him play for another hour or two.You could tell he was enjoying it and he had encores. THis was my first time at FUR and they could improve the soundsystem but over all its nice club. Next time I'm there i will have to hook up with some of you. :Rasta Ba:

Re: John Digweed - June 19, 2005

It was amazing to watch John at 4am when the Sound engineer was on the kill switch and he was making the "Cut" sign with his finger accross the neck while looking at the bosses. The management just stood on the stairwell with a look of fustration on their faces and didn't authorize the kill. John didn't flinch and just kept going as usual and no one had the balls to tell him to turn it off. I think Fur, rightfully so in this case, realized if they booted digweed they would never hear the end of it. Props to Fur for not ruining what may be the best show many have ever.
