Bad E-bay seller

It's not in my nature to slag people off but I just want to warn other's of the bad experience I've recently had using e-bay.

Over a month ago I bought a dj set from a guy selling under the name of CISKOPIKE77. Since then I've not obtained the set, something which has never happened before.

The guy said he'd send another copy in a couple of weeks if it still didn't turn up, which is fair enough and I offered to pay for recorded delivery so that I would definitely get the set but he didn't want to send the set via this method - it wasn't going to cost him any extra as I've already mentioned.

This guy reckons he's sent the cd but guess what I've not got it and he's not replying to my e-mails

So just a word of warning, think twice before bidding on something being sold by CISKOPIKE77

what a wanker Ian.

Hope E-bay cut his balls off and sell them to the highest bidder!!

i've heard of that username... think he's downloaded off me on slsk before or something

I bought a 12" from this guy once, sent him the $70.00 and never received anything. He disapeared from E bay. Thank you for the info, ad I'm sorry you got stiffed.

#214756Post 8 of 25

Thats unfortunate mate, I hate when that happens. I have had great success with Ebay.. BUT I also have been stiffed... twice. Thank god it was only on two records. Oddly enough when I bid, their feedback was really good. Soon after the negatives started racking up. Well, the good has out weighed the bad by a longshot. THANK YOU very much for the heads up on this arse hole!

I' ve heard this name before, maybe a member name on the "old" ms site, from Soulseek or from an FTP but I can?t remember. :|

Thats unfortunate when a couple of assholes have to ruin a great site like ebay. I've only had success with ebay so far, but I've only bought about a dozen or so things off of the site so far.

I've heard of alot of people getting stiffed on Ebay, dosen't matter the price either. It's never happened to me before, but I've only used Ebay 3x's.

Thanks for letting us know.

#214799Post 12 of 25

see that is why I refuse to buy anything from ebay. There are too many people out that just want to scam you instead of being legit about.

#214805Post 13 of 25

Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't e-bay's role as an intermediary to sort out any issues for users.

I guess there is a disclaimer, right?

My mate sells a lot of stuff on there and he seemed to think that e-bay would sort out any shit. I would have thought that e-bay would not make payment to the vendor if the goods were not recieved by the recipient

To be honest I don't use e-bay but this seems like a logical way of doing it, that way no-body gets screwed over!

He's definitely on slsk(he's actually on my userlist, not sure why?) and I believe he was a memeber here as well.

Which set did you buy from him and still waiting for?

#214814Post 15 of 25

If this guy gives wank customer service, dosn't he have alot of shit feedback.

can e-bay not ban his white/black ass?

#214822Post 16 of 25

I never had any problems with Ebay either if I bought stuff from regular members or power sellers.....most things I buy are not too expensive and if something I want costs some money, I use a safety system of Ebay. I don't know if this is available in all countries but here you can send the money to an Ebay account first and lower your risk of loosing the money as you have more influence than when you send the money on your own directly to the seller....

ciskopike

Yes, I've heard of him too. I had him on my user list on slsk aswell.

He's actually a member at the GU board if I'm not mistaken....

Go check it out for yourselves... He lurk's around there.

#214839Post 18 of 25

Yeah i remember him downloading from me on SLSK some live sets. And he is a big GU poster. At least, i always see posts from him. If its the same guy.

You should contact eBay, their assholes to deal with but if you put enough pressure, you can maybe get them to do something.

#214840Post 19 of 25

Sorry you've had this happen to you mate. I 've had very good luck in using E-Bay. I'm sure you check the sellers feedback before bidding.

I do that all the time.. not a garauntee it'll be smooth even if they have a 100% positive feedback.

I've even done some record trading on my own. Directly with people over in the UK and it still went smooth, scary at some points but he got his vinyl and I got mine.

#214850Post 20 of 25

That's why I don't like using ebay too much. Sorry you got screwed dude.

#214879Post 21 of 25

I got my decks and mixer off of ebay. Out of 80 auctions won, I got screwed twice. one record was 1.99, and one was like 15.00 or so. So no complaints really. I do reccomend, if going for big ticket items, look for very high number of positive feedback, not just 100%. And if the person has alot of gear for sale, and has catalogue type photos for it all, I wouldnt bid until I contacted the seller before hand. Its easy to get pics of cdj800's from a website, and put them on ebay, and say you are selling them for 400.00 or 500.00. I saw a seller a few months ago was selling Technics 1200's and cdj800's. the auctions were ending every other day. What was strange was, the item descriptions for the 1200's were the same, yet the pictures were different, one pic was for an MK2 one was for the MK5. Both looked as though they were taken from a web site. And they were being sold at a ridiculous price. I dont see this seller on there anymore.

#214891Post 22 of 25

yeah, there are plenty of sneaky theif's out there.

Just be more cautious out there.

#214893Post 23 of 25

ive never touched ebay cause i think its realy dodgy but a m8 of mine uses it alot for star wars stuff and has only had like 1 or 2 dodgy ppl that took like 2months to send the stuff

You beat me too it. I was gonna say that he's all over GU. On the other hand- regarding ebay. I've been a member since '99 and have only had maybe 2 or 3 problems, both of which the sellers were eager to fix. The thing you need to look out for is sellers with bad or little feedback. That's what it's there for so if you buy something with someone who doesn't have a good track record then that's your own damn fault! Usually someone with good feedback will try and work with you so that they can keep their good feedback. I've sold a few things on ebay with no problem and I've purchased a lot!! I also use half.com for purchasing and selling school books. I've made back more than half on all my books that I've sold on there. Not to mention it's nice to get books for half off if not more. It's a great idea but after october they're changing half.com to make it more like ebay. We'll see how that works.

#215055Post 25 of 25

alas I too got ripped off recently...and due to EBay's policy I won't be able to get the full refund back so I'm out about $150....if I get the money back (which technically I should, but Ebay can be a real pain sometimes on fraud claims)

was trying to get a pair of CDJ-500's...apparently the seller used/lifted someone else's name, phone #, and email address...
