There is a huge difference in prices from online to retail, here in Australia. Sometimes you can save money, but obviously tread with caution and a Pandora's box of what you get within your delivered package.

look at the flip side... along with other members' said advantages, unless it's an emergency, patience is a virtue. along with almost ALWAYS finding stuff cheaper online, if you live in america, often times you can get away with not paying sales tax.

as far as if your payment method is safe, i agree with you for the most part, but look at Target. their shoppers were paying IN store and still got their information stolen. you take your chances where ever you shop, physically or virtually.

I live in Holland and here we can still buy pretty much everything in stores. It's getting more and more difficult with cd's and movies, I have to admit that. What bothers me the most is that the choice seems to disappear, and people lose their jobs because of the shift to online-shopping.

As far as I know, here in Holland paying in stores, (PIN or cash), is safer than online payment methods. Also, for me, not having to wait is a big advantage. I'm not a patient guy.

And there are a many many new things happening that create new jobs. Well, everywhere else but here in Australia. :lol: If you look at statistics you will probably find that there are same number ,or more, number of jobs. Where the jobs are is changing.

We used to be the forefront of renewable energy research , we didn't develop it and it all went off shore. A lot to California which is becoming one of the worlds leaders in actual renewal energy. There are a lot of Aussies over there creating businesses, creating jobs, and making heaps. While our government CUTS anything to do with renewables. We are going back at 100 miles an hour :(

The thing is to have the foresight to see that everything is moving and changing so fast and work with that.

Btw re safety, the only problem I have had is when my card skimmed at an ATM.
