well,

digweed brought his show to town last night....and what a show it was.

luke morrison started at around 9pm, and around 9:30 or 10 informed me that sean cusick was not gonna be able to play. needless to say, i was a bit pissed, cause i've never caught cusick live. that is...until luke kicked it up a notch. i've seen luke play many many times, and lemme tell ya, this was his best performance to date. he was dropping some deep dark proper fucking house music; phenomenal stuff. i honestly dont think cusick could have done any better.

then john came on around 12:00, and proceeded to tear the place appart. over the 3 hours he played, i only recognized one tune (the bedrock remix of 'closer 2 me'). and john was definitely on a house/prog tip last night. very little electro/tech...good news to many who are going to see him soon, i'm sure.

the show was over way too fast, and all i'm left with is a raspy voice and a mild hangover.

so props to john, but especially to luke, who put himself up and proved he can play on a world-class stage last night. we're gonna be hearing more from him in the future, thats for sure.

Diggers last night in Detroit was awesome. It was a really good night. The opening dj was kenenth thomas, he was alright. I thought he did a pretty good job warming the place up. But i have heard better sets from him. Then Sean Cusick went on. He set the place on fire. Cusick played for about 45 min or so. His set was kinda techy in parts. Then about midnight diggers went on. The place just urpted. Through out his whole set it was dark and just bangin. I really could not name any of the tracks he played all night. Except it was just sick & dark. I think evil diggers has returned. He played for a little over 3 hrs. Pure bliss. All the people that are going to see him tonight be prepared to get your heard spun. Diggers is on fire now. I think he starting to return back to his old self again. Thank God.

so he was on in the US and Canada on the same night :?

#437981Post 11 of 17

^ no I don't think so. I think he just played in detroit. I am not sure though. I know I went to see him detroit and it was great. I think he played in canada the night before though. So maybe that is what they are talking about. Either way E, your going to have such a great time tonight. Yesterday was one of the best diggers sets i have ever heard.

Thanks so much for the kind words JT - was an amazing night & a huge thrill for sure (Diggers was in top form and sonically astounding - put on a clinic indeed).

Here's a few pictures I've been able to gather from the night.

^ Luke it looks like it was a good time. But when and where did you play with digweed. That club looks really small. Did diggers really play two shows in one night.
Did diggers really play two shows in one night?
JD played Edmonton Thursday night (as shown above) and Detroit on Friday night.

^ OK, got you. I know the detroit show did not get over with until 3 am. So I just curious to see if diggers drove somewhere else to play as well. After the set he through at club bleu. I don't know how he could top that.
