My power went out for about 4 hours and it just came back on. It's affecting 8 counties (about a million people) in the Houston area, and a lot of it won't be on until tomorrow. For those of you who don't know, Houston is the equivalent of a crematory in June.

They said if they wouldn't have shut down when they did, it would've taken all of Texas offline. I wish that would've happened so it would've made the news. :lol:

Well if it's any consolation, my power is on but the AC is broken. Do you know what it feels like at 12 midnight when it's still 85 degrees with 100% humidity? God awful.

I know we're going to be out of power several times for several days during this fookin hurricane season...

60 degrees is paradise weather...

it hits 95 around 10am down here in FLA! hot as nutz..

my power went out last week for about 2 hours, but my cable was out for 2 days. I couldn't get on the net or even watch tv... I just cried myself to sleep.

MJ try surviving a Hurricane and losing your power for 2 weeks in 90degree weather with 100% humidity.

This happened twice during last years hurricane season. For some reason since we are in college housing, we are the last in our area to get power restored. I guarantee Ska (who lives about a block over) had power while we roasted.

Full of shit aye??? After Charlie, College Station across the street had power just a few days after the Hurricane while we fucking rotted. Everyone on each side of us had power, while we went another week and a half without power. It was still the summer term, so the city assumed that nobody was in Pegasus Point while all this shit was happening. Of course our apt. office was closed so we had nobody to bitch to while we were left in the heat.

SO YES it was two and a half fucking weeks. And we never got reimbursed, never pro-rated, or even a courtesy knock-on-the-door to make sure we were alright. We worked for the Red Cross to stay out of the heat... and you right the City of Orlando was fully restored. It was nice going inside people's AC while we helped the cleanup. Leesburg wasn't even a direct hit you panzy.

MJ I feel for ya, it's the middle of summer and I know what it feels like to lay in a bed of sweat. All that happened was completely unpredictable or I would have done the same.

JP, I wasn't saying that you were full of shit for saying that it took you two and a half weeks. I was saying you were full of shit saying that we had power restored much quicker than you. We were faced with the same problem - the other side of our complex had power. It was one of the most infuriating things I've ever endured, sitting here baking in this stagnent, musty apartment looking out of the window across the pond at the apartments with lights, t.v.s, computers, etc on.

Furthermore, we [b]NEVER[/b] evacuated for Charlie. We sat here, through the entire thing. I have plenty of video and pics if you'd like to see. I was at the 7-11 at the corner of Rouse and Colonial at 3pm (as they were closing) in line buying beer to brace for the night. We only went to Leesburg after being powerless for 5 days. We then spent a week there before coming back over to wait it out at a friend's house. Fortunately, we had family relatively close by, unlike countless thousands of others.

As for helping with the cleanup, we did a HUGE amount of it too. In fact, I was a complete dumbass and picked up shingles around here without gloves on and fiberglass embedded in my skin for days.

Next time we're taking a flight back to Chicago. I learned Wal-Mart is a great hangout when your without power. It was depressing helping people who bitched to Buddy Dyer to get their power restored early. I'm still a little irrate from last years events.

I'd love to see your video, my brother lost his house while he sat it out in Fort Myers. His roof blew off and they lived on a canal. He has an incredible timeline I'd like to share with you.

so for a few hours it was MJ-noAC.. i feel for yall a lil farther south/ 3 showers a day & still not feeling zest fully clean. i used to live about 30 miles from the 3rd coast a few years back.
