he is still a dj.
I think he is working on more dodgy pop remixes.
Mike posted something about him playing NYC this weekend or something.

Re: Sander Kleinenberg
Uhhhh....he pretty much been awful for about 1 to 2 years now....He needs to hang it up!! He is washed up imo
Ok start bashing me guys!!
Come on Joe you know what I am talking about....He has been in a steady decline. Saw him in orlando in spring 2004 and It definatly was a waste of a drive. No flow what soever...Many borderline cheezy songs and to top it off he ended the show with outkast.
And Every set I have wasted time dl in the past few years has been unlistenable imo. Hey I tell it how i feel...
Sander was my favorite dj from 2000-2003, I have more sets from him than any other dj...
but the past 2 years for me he has been awful.
Maybe someday he get back to his old self again. Then i will support him.
To be completely honest Charlie, I agree with you. I saw him back in 2002 and it was a fantastic show. Saw him at the conference this year and left after the 2nd track he played.
But...
and this is a big but...
and I'll preface it by saying that I know this is the internet and we're able to say whatever we want, blah, blah, blah,...
This thread didn't ask my opinion. Whether I like it or not Sander has fans. Runningman started the thread merely to ask for information. Not to hear whether I think Sander's past his prime or not. If the thread title had been "What do you guys think of Sander" or "Do you like 'The Fruit'?" I would've chimed in with my 2 cents on the matter. It's just like someone's thread the other day that said 'Deep Dish Split'. No one asked my opinion on what I thought of Deep Dish, so I kept my comments to myself. And within minutes there was a reply by someone saying 'Good, I hate them anyway. They suck' or whatever.
A big reason why I prefer this COMMUNITY over the likes of boards such as GU (or any number of other boards) is that for the most part we are a very positive-based forum. Spend a day or 2 on any of the aforementioned boards and you'll be so depressed from all the negativity that you'll be ready to slit your wrists.

I agree with you totally, Point well taken. I am going to lighten up on my negativity....
I just used to be a big Sander fan and it kills me the way he sounds now...he had so much potential. so when he asked :"sander news" i felt like saying the news is he is washed up...
^ Sander's first renaissance cd was really good but the 2nd one was to commericialized. That seems to explain a lot of djs.. There to worried about playing floor fillers and that is it.
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
ska you should of stuck around for matthew dekays set after sanders set during the conference! he was on point.
sander will be playing starscape in baltimore this saturday, too bad ill be at diigers!

Re: Sander Kleinenberg
He is playing Star Scape this saturday night in Baltimore, MD. I cant wait to see him. i missed his party in MIami this year, but i heard it was the best one of the conference.
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
i'm a bit dissapointed of him, he plays to many commercial remixes, which sound kinda bad, and he's now more like a rezident saturday night dj,who has to play all the commercial tracks for everyone to feel good, not verry respectable for a dj

it was a rough transition but i thought matthew dekay pulled it out and really did a good job. plus that club was kind of dumpy but the sound was amazing. i was just happy to be in a club that cared more about the sound then the posh surroundings.
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
can't wait to see him play here in Romania on 2nd of july
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
i was just happy to be in a club that cared more about the sound then the posh surroundings.
My thoughts to a 'T'. The sound in there was  Obviously it didn't compare to Crobar, etc. but for only opening the club for the conference they did an outstanding job.
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
Dont give up on sander just yet - the rght time was one of the best tracks of 2004 IMO
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
ok boys, I have heard him monthly for the past year, 6hour sets each time for the most part.... he hasnt lost a damn thing, he plays a more diverse night and starts out a bit cheesier but its so tongue in cheek and fun with a great vibe, and then he slams it home for the 2nd half of the night... and as far as technically speaking about him goes, I've heard him barely start to go off beat or do a blah mix maybe 3 times this year, he's rockin it... what can i say
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
Well, Sander's been playing his monthly residency for about 6 months or so here in NYC, and IMO he's great! I go out often and try to see the big talent whenever I can, especially at Crobar since it's so close, and let me tell you...he always throws the absolute best parties!! The crowd is the best I've ever seen there, and he's always making EVERYBODY boogie down, laugh, and have a great time. Even after being at all the fundacions and other main events recently, my favorite nights are when Sander's there. It's perfect every time!!
Don't give up on him guys, he's got some jewels in his box still...
...and some funny ones as well.
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
I was in LA last month and saw him play at Avalon. Imo, he's better than ever and I really enjoyed the show.
Re: Sander Kleinenberg
sander to me is that part of the current DJ community that represents the din of noise that drones out any semblence of distinction between the good, the bad, and the ugly. how about a nice night of sander k., deep dish, and paul van dyk to make for a cover charge larger than your monthly rent and as much spiritualism and depth as a clay aiken video.
Djing isnt rocket science, its far from it. stay on top of the releases and pick out good tunes, play them in a proper order, be a decent human being, and earn a living. and though it may not be dibilitatingly hard, its hard work to do those things in the right amount all the time.
Djs probably go through boughts of not working so hard and then it shows in the public's review of them. should they jump back on it folks start praising them again. its just cyclical. i just havent heard or seen sanders upside yet...im sure he has one.
unlike paul "everything at plus 6" van dyk...the guys never heard an arpegiator he didnt like...
^ are you from Europe?
