James Holden's Balance 005 is the first that comes to mind. I think Hernan Cattaneo's Perfecto South America mix had it too?

But yeah, I remember that track being absolutely EVERYWHERE for a long time.

Now that you mention it, time to bust out Fear of a Silver Planet again, too.

Gave a listen to Cass's Prologue double cd this morning - found the first disc a bit dull, but the second disc comes to life.

Whatever happened to Lemon 8 - dude had mad promise, and somehow evaporated.

Also, I read in GQ a month or so ago that The Scumfrog is DJing morning raves in New York.

I have had this a while, all the tracks on it are great, but for some reason it has never worked for me. Deep Dish's Toronto and Moscow mixes have the same effect.

Re: Half forgotten compilations that are actually pretty good

their yoshiesque mixes were so much better than their mixes for GU. GU moscow was average prog, Toronto cd2 was meh. but with yoshiesque, they had their own, unique sound ... too bad that their EM from 1998 is such crappy recording quality

The Toronto mixes had the disadvantage of not being even close to what they played that night - probably because of the licensing issues. Both the night they were there for the "recording" and the release party for the GU were amazing nights - managed to mix in Seven Nation Army and the Adam Freeland remix as well as a really beautiful remix of Clocks by Coldplay (it was a great moment).

Hearing the Toronto CD when it came out was such a disappointment - the two Afterclub cd's that they put out didn't really make up for it, but were better than the Toronto mixes themselves.

Cream was also very good. It has a very emotional feel to it in my opinion.

Lost in Time is good too. Was her first mix cd and sounds a bit dated, but I still dig it.
