The like hip hop for sure. Ie. P.Diddy - Lets get ill (deep dish remix)

#214416Post 7 of 32

these guys deffo have talent and good taste, but i have never been a big fan of them, they seem to play out some cheesy tunes and they seem eager to become a ""socialite"" with america's elite.

I'd love to hear this set or something similar. When I heard them play Coldplay's "Clocks" for the GU 25 party, it seemed absolutely perfect and appropriate for the time. I like someone that will disregard the rules, throw me a curve or take a risk. Might not always pay off, but at least they're trying to push the boundaries and give you something different.

I fucking hate when they do that! Wasn't it Armend Van Helden that dropped hip hop at Space and everybody started booing...

Yeah it was him and i dont he has been back since.

I wouldnt mind if some deejays played hip hop in their sets, but i like hip hop. I have been listening to it since i have been a kid. But not everyone likes that genre of music and people pay to go see a house or prog dj, they dont want hip hop. So i understand if people dont want to hear that at all.

exactly, I would be fucking pissed if Digweed start dropping Eminem if I went and paid lots of $$$ to see him!!!

#214553Post 13 of 32

Well on a beachparty it doesn?t matter if he play hiphop. But back ati the clubs I prefer if he play prog. house.

#214560Post 14 of 32

Good man.

I am a very prog/Hip-Hop man.

So I know how he feels, when you're feeling that Hip-Hop you've gotta play it. I wish I was there, sounds great

To be honest these days it does more for me in a club that progressive house, its all personal taste.

i think they are excusable... the set from La Mania was amazing!!! they were playing for about 6 hours!!

and at the beach party... there was no entrance fee ;)

Thats actually not a bad choon, even being P-Diddy. I have the Darren Emerson remix too. It's good to throw down when you are playing for people that NEED to hear something familiar.

#214787Post 23 of 32

Well, I know alot of people like the hip hop scene, but I just cant get into it. I think I would be a bit bummed if they changed the mode of the night with the music like that. I need to hear more of their mix sets too. I think I do have a few saved, I'll give'em a spin soon. :o

Deep Dish's MIDDLE EAST RECORDINGS Discography:

Ring: One Game (Left To Play) [MER001]
Ring: They Want To Kill Me / Invisible Man [MER002] Ring: Shakin' [MER003]

#214848Post 25 of 32

See that is what happens when u hang out with p diddy to long you think ur a hip-hop start. Deep dish is way over rated.

#214854Post 26 of 32

I know what you guys are talking about Danny T dropped some Missy Elliot @ARC one night...I WAS PISSED!

#214881Post 27 of 32

It really depends .. the P diddy remix with deep dish was hot .. But I have to agree its great that the push boundaries I saw them recently at Crobar in New York and Ali was tearin it up .. It was an awesome set
I know what you guys are talking about Danny T dropped some Missy Elliot @ARC one night...I WAS PISSED!
I like when Danny does it though .. i dont know why but its just different.. He has also played Kelis.. Danny is just crazy and likes to have fun with whatever hes playing

#214903Post 29 of 32

it's different to end the show/set with some funky hip-hop/dancehall tunes from sean paul and missy elliot, but not bad  . sander kleinenberg did this @ everybody, the hague (that night, deep dish was also present)....... deep dish does this usually, ending with tracks from coldplay or the white stripes. they even started a set with a track from run dmc :Naughty:

#214937Post 30 of 32

Open your minds and listen to the music.

This thread is about DD playing a FREE set @ an AFTER party. It's not a club. Get over that.

Let's pretented they DID play a track or 2 of hip hop in their set, if it works, who gives a shit. Don't go calling them sell outs or copy cats, dance and enjoy yourself.

Sometimes I think prog is full of Anal chinstrokers :anal:
they even started a set with a track from run dmc :Naughty:
They did that on their last kiss set. I like it when it's appropriate. There's some good beats in hip hop and I see hip hop taking alot of elements from prog these days. I don't see what the problem is. I don't see anyone complaining about 80's retro or anything else. Why is hip hop a problem?
