i find the new sasha ableton "breakout" cd quite uninteresting it does not seem to break any new ground in my opinion i feel like i keep hearing this set over and over again

It doesn't sound live, there is no ambient crowd noise in the background. It is a mellow side of house, I think its a good change of pace. I like it when DJ's can mix up the pace a bit. Sure I like a good hard dirty house mix but change is nice once in a while.

where did you guys hear an advance copy of it? And is that all you have to say about it? that you're not impressed with the tracklist and there's no "mood?" What the fuck do you mean? Since you're one of the chosen few who claim to have heard this yet-released live cd from Sasha, you better back your shit up with some real comments and some articulate feedback other than "fundacion is boring."

I think comments like those from reviewers like you are "boring."

I really don't know why u rave so much in this thread. Hambrecht wanted only to say that Fundacion is boring, although he could have done it in one of existing threads. Personally I also think that Fundacion is a world class snoozefest :roll:

U ask why it is boring? Well it has cheesy opening, lacks flow and verve. The main theme is silly fiddling with ableton up to the point whre u are totally fed up with electroey samples that seem out of place. The mix is just plodding beats all the way. Memorable moments are few and far between.

Some will probably claim that the album is groundshattering (as always :roll: ), unfortunatelly it's not the case.

I?m sure many people would call the set he did in Lisbon a few days ago boring, because 80% of the time it consisted of tech-house with not much melody, and many bleeps, klangs, and distorted and acid basslines.

Does this pretty much sum up Fundacion? If so, then it should be great.

well, its not what you would instantly expect from Sasha, although like most Sasha mixes it will undoubtedly sound better every time, has a similar feel to his Orlando set though imo, although Fundacion is obviously more polished. 8/10 for me :)

i thought the orlando set was fantastic. absolutely love the first hour and was thinking how great it would be if it was cleaned up just a little. thanks for the review i wanted to hear chem. it's on order.

IMO this is why some DJs prefer not to have their sets recorded and/or leaked. The problem is that this year/late last year there have been several Sasha sets floating around. If not for the information age where we have virtually anything we want at our fingertips, you would've never heard "this set over and over". You have to remember that the vast majority of people who will buy this CD have not heard 10 Sasha sets in 6 months and to them it is something new. When reviewing a CD please try to keep that in mind.
