I agree with the downsizing. Would be a massive shame for this place to go. Everyone got busy with their lives and social media took over. Would be great to see a downscaled [ms]. Pulling the plug totally would be a sad thing.

cant agree with you more. there are some sets i would have never found if it wasn't for ms, will be a shame if they pull the plug.

I am dead serious, there are sets that are posted on here that you NEVER find anywhere else. its really the best resource for finding underground dance music. I (as most others) would be fine if it was just scaled down to GYY and Promos/Recommendations but to axe it completely would tear a piece of me out for life...i have been on here since forever, a few years before the big crash of 2004 and i still check it out several times daily, which i bet a bunch of folks do, we are just not posting as much anymore, doesn't mean we are not utilizing the site.

there seems to be consensus about downsizing the forum(s). i dont know how much work this is - but its worth a try for sure.

and re-setting the post count: why not? + delete all users who havent posted since january 1st 2015 ^^

I dont post as much as I used to but that's just because my personal life has been pretty hectic the last year or so but I still find myself on here for a nosey at least once a day.

I would have helped with that mate but my upload speed is poor at the moment so would be too annoying.

i broke my foot the other day so I've been preoccupied till now. If you do decide to shut it down, and I guess I understand why you might want to do this, lets at least have a MS group page on facebook for keeping in touch,sharing sets and talking about music.

For what it's worth I'm in agreement with the downsizing. MS life and MS music is more than enough for me

Honestly, I visit this site multiple times every day. I don't always post, so I'm a bit of a culprit here, but I would really hate to see this place go. I'm all for consolidating. I don't think it's necessary to have all the subforums; if we really want to keep topics separated, just create a couple stickies. No need for the archives either in my opinion, let's make it as cost efficient as possible.

personally, I prefer [ms] look/format so much better. just my 2 cents.... (not interested in anything that becomes like reddit, if the goal is to get really big/busy)

the censoring of new people for so long is a real deterrent for newcomers, I can attest to that. the bickering is a turn off & is stifling imo the innocuous condiment-type threads are fun now & then

nice to see so many people come out of the woodwork on this topic!

O.K Kamal, You got my attention. It would be very sad if MS was headed the way of the dodo bird. How about you give it a couple of months and see if we can revive this place, if by the end of April you don't see a noticeable improvement then que sera sera.

I have discovered so much amazing music here on MS - it really would be a damned shame to see MS go.

A downsized version sounds like a good idea if that's what it takes....
