Seems as Kiwitollway asked for a recipe thread I thought I would post about my low card high fat lifestyle I have been on for the last 4 months.

Have last 7 kilograms, high blood pressure back to normal, blood sugars perfect and brought my cholesterol back to acceptable levels.

Typical days meals

Breakfast - 2 fried eggs and bacon cooked in butter, coffee with a dollop of cream, 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with hot water blended together.

Lunch - chicken with the skin and veggies

Supper - lamb or beef or chicken with the fat left on with a salad.

This is going crazy in South Africa at the moment.

Re: LCHF Lifestyle

Yes! that website has some interesting recipes, thanks!

include some fruit (berries mainly), but definitely vegetables and legumes for fiber....any diet that's restricted to one or two things isn't balanced imo.

I've also reduced carbs/grains/flour significantly and amazed how much better it feels. Cabbage, romaine, kale, carrots, etc. you need cancer fighting foods not just primarily meats & fats! Frozen berries & bananas-- like a dessert to me. And dark chocolate (60+ % or more of pure cocoa) is great for moods, along with nuts. I like 60% greens, 30% meat & legumes, 5-10% fruit & nuts (inc dark chocolate).

Love organic coconut oil, use it all the time. I'm a fanatic for green & red cabbages, chard, kale, etc.. it comes all shredded, ready to eat at the store and I think "How spoiled am I?" lol

But, you know blood work isn't the entire picture of one's health.

We have choices, food, a home, music......... we have it SO good!!
