Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
I see two versions of this mix out there... one is over 200mb and the other is over 150mb?
what gives?
quality of the rip possibly?

Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
yes it can be. some people increase the bit depth, does not do anything, but people do it.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
I'm digging this mix...it's not dark or anything, but on the funk tip.
Good Sunday afternoon chillin while doing laundry music.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
[quote=sheryar]Sasha's done too many drugs and his music taste SUCKS now.

Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
Is there any way that we can hold the whiny bitches who swear they are done listening to sasha for good to their word? If they are going to pout and take their ball home because nobody is playing their favorite game... then we shouldn't have to hear from them anymore right?
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
lol.

What chokes my chicken is when it's the same people over and over and over again - as if we didn't read it correctly the first 5,000 times. Same goes for the Digweed-haters, etc.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
I listened to this set twice today on my iPod and i'm sooo over it.

What chokes your chicken.....? or more importantly, who chokes your chicken, and are they doing it well?
and SUPAZ, i'm so glad to hear about your recent over'age.... enjoy all your free/sashaless-time, or just use it negatively and continue to fixate on that.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
Very good mix, and it is important that someone mentioned that Sasha himself had said that this wasn?t going to be a typical "club" set.
Seen from that angle, it?s a very well put together collection of great music, pure and simple. Mostly not peaktime dancefloor stuff, for sure, but something built for your brain to bounce along.
Of course, I?m hoping to hear a different kind of set next wednesday when I finally get to see the man live, since it?s a big 10.000 people event and he?ll have to play after the great DJ Vibe.
Oh, and that Juliet/Plastikman mashup is absolutely fucking amazing, truly fierce stuff, I just lost my shit listening to that.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
Just played this today ... he played some of the tracks at Fabric - but this is more a home listening mix with lots of dynamics.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
I think because there's no prog monsters and more breaks people are getting arsey about it......
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
people can talk all the shit they want....bottom line is that they hate him cause they ain't him...
i think the most appropriate word to describe it is "beautiful"
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
ive noticed that you can really tell what a dj is trying to get across to the listener by there second half of their essential mix, for example andy c's mix the other week is dope in the second half. in sasha mix this week, the track that comes in at 1h 16mins is so perfect. and the fade to the track after that is insane, fuck, this is the first time ive listend to it, i think its amazing (word used becasue of lack of imagination). can some one post one of those tracklist with the times the tracks, thanks.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
Only listened to snippets of it, but the Jori Hulkkonen track is amazing, especially with the wavy gravy loop over the top.Awesome mxing, even if it is computerised.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
the mix blew
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix

LMFAO..... I was just going to say the same thing.... about the membership material on this board as of late.... I have the feeling there are a lot of "pro-wrestling-fan" type guys on here, you know what I'm talking about boys... that type-of-guy who didn't have to watch wrestlemania all the time, but regardless he gets laid about as often as someone who waits in line to see star wars.
(if you are confused, ask yourself if you ever use "AWWWW YEAH!" out loud and/or use the word "bro!" more than twice a day... if the answer to either is yes, then this is you)
chuckc... this isn't a personal attack, it was just provoked by reading one too many generic bad reviews etc... I hope for your sake this doesnt apply to you and that you get lots and lots of tail... go get em' tiger!

no need for a frekin long ass review....either music sux or its good.....
and this mix was boring...i almost went to sleep....
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
Wow...I must be stupid and/or old : I love this mix, just as I love Chris Fortier?s Balance 07...both have been slammed here.
Maybe I?m in the wrong forum.
Sure, I?m seeing Sasha tomorrow and probably wouldn?t be too happy if he played the exact same set and tracks...but please, he himself said that this wasn?t going to be his usual club stuff.
And if some people dismiss it as just shitty music, I can equally say this IS quality music. No need for more explanations.

Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
I think it's a great mix. No, it's not what he sounds like at 5am eyes closed-mixing sounds that came from nowhere, scaring the pants off of me, but it is an incredibly solid set. He was given 2 hours in a studio, live, to create a great solid mix that would show the world a few tracks that he'd be psyched to hear and play in a given two hours. I think it's fantastic! It's got a ton of great vocal tracks, a great build, it's not super crazy afterhours sounding, but a solid expression of what and how he feels these days. It's a f@#king 2 hour party, y'alls!! I think it's hilarious what some of you write withour backing any of it up. What were you expecting? The greatest thing about Mr. Coe is that I never know what to expect. It's always a surprise, it's always brilliantly mixed and remastered, and it always sounds perfectly different every time. Glad to have this new addition to my collection.
By the way, to all you peeps who expect sasha, or any dj for that matter, to provide you with a set that sounds like something you've heard before...you are forever going to be dissapointed. And why go out for that matter? Just stay home, play Northern Expeditions or GU13 over and over until you turn 50 and have missed the whole evolution of what we're so lucky to be right smack dab in the middle of.
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
i liked very much this essential
i miss old sasha, but this sounds good
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
IMO, the most epic Sasha EM is May 95.
That mix summarizes what I experienced back in the day...
Re: Houston we have lift off Sasha E-mix
i've listened to a couple of times most of the track i like...but theres a couple in there i'm not a big fan of
