Once you go DLP - you wont wanna go back to stupid film projection... trust me. Seek one out - travel 50 miles out to DLP theater if you have to - but make sure you see Star Wars in DLP... Theres no other way. Here's a list of DLP teathers in the USA: http://www.dlpmovies.com/DLPTheatres.php

Dude, I've lived in Jax for 16 years...20 if you count when I was a kid, before we moved to Texas and then moved back. :P

And forgive me, but who are habby and numi??? I love Eclate, last time I was there was to see Jondi and Splesh a few months back.

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

habersham and numinous

oh and as for SW:E3

I have never seen a series of prequels have so much potential yet fail so hard. Don't get me wrong, the story-line is great, but the fact that the dialogue was so dry, the acting was pitiful, and the 2 minute conversations were interrupted by 20 secs of a cut-scene of the outside world. What an easy buck for George Lucas. Make tons of eye-candy and the people will come. I want my 9$ back. Oh and the asshole working the projector burnt the film as soon as the credits hit "George Lucas" at the end. It just stuttered and fried up.

Peter Jackson made the trilogy that Lucas had dreamed of making.

But don't worry. Lucas will get another try. I'm sure he will make 3 more movies. There's just too much money waiting to be siphoned off. Fox won't rest until Lucas makes the next three.

I think the first three are way over-hyped, over-rated. I saw them when I was a kid and they made an impact. But so did Willy Wonka.

ERDHJKHTEWHTJKHETGUJEWJLKDEWT!~!!

Just got back from it and I'm so giddy!@~!!#

I'm on a big Star Wars high right now!!

It was certainly an emotional roller coaster, something new for the new trilogy.
Seeing the Vader transformation makes it all worthwhile.

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

saw it last night and loved it :)

#421342Post 27 of 42

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

saw it first show this morning and i gotta say, for what its worth it was a fun movie. a good way to tie the story together. but as far as filmmaking goes, if starwars didnt have an already established history these films would have bombed. all 3 of the new ones. i sat with some buddies and picked holes in the story for over an hour after the movie. its terrible filmmaking at its worst. the only thing lucas does right is the visual effects.

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

It pulled in $16.5million just at the midnight showings.

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

DAMN!!! For a series of movies that people say has gotten worse as it has gone on, there sure is a helluva lot of interest. 16 mil just over night??!!

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

Can't you cut the godfather of the blockbuster a break? Why all this hatin?

I loved it. I wanted redemption from the first two, which were close to pitiful, and I found that and more.

And for those who loved the matrix - who can you thank for it? Mr. Lucas. For those who loved LOTR - who can you thank? Lucas, who created ILM. Say what you will about the films - but Lucas had a serious hand in making movies what they are today.

And food for thought: Spielberg cried at the end.

#421858Post 31 of 42

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

I think he cried because of how poorly the movie was directed. =/

#421887Post 32 of 42

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

the movie absolutley kicked ass...loved every second of it

much better than episodes 1 and 2...
I think he cried because of how poorly the movie was directed. =/
Seriously man, please elaborate on what these poor points are for me, cause I didn't see many.

I just got home from seeing it and I'm just going to come out and say it.....it's the best Star Wars movie ever. You are talking to a tried and true, obsessed since I can remember Star Wars fan, so I feel I have a pretty good sense of what it is all about....and that was what it is all about. I really can't elaborate too much because my head is still kinda spinning, but it ruled!!!!!!

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

Agreed evangelion.

A little nugget of info: I just watched the Return of the Jedi DVD and they managed to throw in Hayden Christensen as Anakin next to Yoda and Obi-Wan when they appear at the end. Interesting touch.

#422032Post 35 of 42

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

Really??!!! You have no idea the things that ran thru my head when I was a kid when I saw the spirt of Anakin Skywalker at the end of Return of the Jedi!!! I always imagned what he was like...he was Darth Vader before he beacame Darth Vader, ya know!!! Well, now I know. And that makes this new trilogy stand on its own, no matter what all the haters say.

So instead of this guy...

They changed it to this on the DVD.

Interesting way to tie together the two trilogies.

did they really do this? wow anyway, thought the movie was horrible in terms of directing and acting, well at least the intimate scenes, but overall the story was powerful enough to make you forget all of that. the fall of anikan was something we all knew about, but the details put into making it happen was tragic, as it was supposed to be. and for all those hating on the series, it's part of what the lot of us grew up with. nostalgia, the completion of a story told, this is what this new trilogy means. for that lucas did a great job.

#422177Post 38 of 42

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

exactly ^ it seems the people that are die hard fans are missing the point that yes, the storyline was good, but, the acting was too poor and the dialogue was very dry....i think everyone is just blinded by the fact that they now know how vader came to be, thus why it's considered a "great" movie. But coming from theatrical aspects, it's poorly done in the sense of having a good script and involved acting. They didn't need to try because it was already known that the people just wanted to find out how vader came to be....

#422269Post 39 of 42

Re: Happy Star Wars III Day

changing old anakin for new anakin is kinda pointless. they should change old ben for young ben then!! ...the acting was poor simply because of hayden c. ..he is terrible ..... the movie was really good IMO at one point i thought it was probably the best out of the six....
